According to this thread at the popular gaming forum "Cheap Ass Gamer," EB, GameCrazy, GameStop, and other retail chain consumers are starting to be turned down for "launch day" preorders of XBOX360, and being added to a "Week 2" list.

So, bottom line, if you want an XBOX360 at launch, now would be the time to go to your local EB/GameStop and preorder!

System will go for $300 and will launch with 25-40 titles over the holiday season. System also includes free XBOX Live online multiplayer gaming on weekends.

yeah... i went into EB a month or so ago, and preordered it as well as perfect dark 0... they only had 3 left then.

EDIT: by source, I mean lazy link me
oh noes! it's text-link hunt 2k5! .... anyone know if that's an X360 launch title?

I usually wait a few months after console releases, mainly becuase launch quality tends to suck. Although my launch GameCube is still going strong.

The Gamecube launch was amazing! One of the best memories in my gaming career. :)

I still don't know if I want an Xbox 360 yet. Im thinking about upgrading my computer around that time so I might not have the funds for it. Although, I could always ask for one for Christmas. We shall see.

Also, when I was at E3, I wasn't blown away by its graphics. Yeah, they were nice and all but it wasn't what I was expecting from a next gen console. However, the devs and such stated that it was only using about 75% of its power so hopefully things will improve. :) The only game that will probably make me buy the system is Gears of War. That doesn't come out until early next year though.

When does it come out in the UK?

Once all the defective launch day units have been repaired and shipped over here.

My GameCube is the only launch system besides the N64 that I didn't have to have replaced a few days/weeks down the road. PS, PS2, Saturn, DC, XBox....all had to get a replacement. Unless there's a substantial quality increase in the next gen, I think I'll be waiting until next year for the XB 360. And since, after reading the specs of these machines, they are still only going for the $300 range....I doubt there's been a quality bump.

I doubt iw will sell for 300, microsoft would take a huge loss, most likely a little over $200 per console(based on the $500 production price of the PS3) I really expect it to be $400 like the PS3.

Get ready for let-down '05-'06

Besides Oblivion, I haven't seen one thing on the X360 that looks at all fun

MS has already stated several times XBOX360 will be about $300.

agreed, Xbox has a great release lineup. frankly, if a console has more than 3 games i'm interested in through its entire lifetime, i'd be very happy. 3 at launch? sounds peachy to me.

ghost recon 3
pd0
elder scrolls

and theres a few others i'm looking at.

I hope The Godfather sells 0 copies, from the gameplay I've seen it is nowhere close to what the movie was about.
