XBox360 or PS3?

My PS3 has treated me well hardware wise for a couple months now. The wireless was a BREEZE to set up, and I've not had a single issue on anything.

Also, I have more games than I have time to play with, I don't understand why people say there are no games :( Sure, LESS games than the 360 or Wii, but I don't think it's so few that it's a reason to not get the system.

PS3.

It's got killzone, lbp, mgs 4 :)
It actually works out cheaper than getting a 360 with all the stuff
It's also a blu-ray player
It also doesn't keep ****ing breaking *looks at 360*

BTW, where the hell are the PS3 owners? Surely it didn't tank that bad right?

I'd imagine most PS3 owners are simply tired of a bunch of fanboy children telling them how stupid they were for getting a PS3 and have learned to avoid threads such as these. Anyway, I don't know about the overall reliability of the newest 360 iteration. A friend of mine who got a new 360 about 6 months ago just had to send his back. I know I've had my PS3 for over a year and have never had any issues whatsoever and that includes swapping hard drives.

All the current consoles are great in their own way and have enough exclusives to make them must buys in my book.

PS3 - awesome Blu-ray player, well made, free online, good exclusives, rubbish analogue placement/sticks.

360 - biggest games library, best online service (at a cost), good exclusives, is now well made, terrible d-pad.

Wii - best party console, good exclusives, but doesn't cater as a traditional gaming console as well as the above two.

Xbox 360. I really like the media sharing ability in it. I put all my music and videos in windows media players library. Then when I open up my xbox all my videos and music can be played from the computer trough the xbox. I got my pc and xbox connected to my dsl hub.

PS3 can do this as well.

To be honest, PS3 and the 360 are virtually on the same page. There's not one thing the other one can do the other can't except for the obvious Blu-Ray, but if you don't have a need for Blu-Ray, then that shouldn't even matter to you.

The PS3 has awesome exclusives as well as awesome exclusives on the PSN. The 360 is exactly the same. Basically, it all depends on what you want. The only thing is that some companies, such as Valve, only cater to the 360 so if that matters to you at all, then obviously you should go to the 360, but if you're like most smart people, you'd get any Valve game for the computer, but that's obviously just one example.

Honestly, if you're not going to use online which I'm damn near sure you said, then it's not going to matter which console you pick.

Might as well go with a Wii then! Heh. Heh. EMIRITE?! Heh.

:D

No different on the PSN, other than the fact that it's a barren wasteland of inactivity compared to Live.

Most ppl on PSN not having headsets isn't such a bad thing though. The twats are there, you just can't hear them.

Exactly.

Enjoy your shootan with 12 year olds on the mic.

That's the only problem on the PSN. I was talking about the services and games offered via DLC, but for games and such, I don't think I could handle playing on there without having a headset. That's the main reason I never played with me PS2 online. It's honestly the same exact online service except for the fact that the PS3's has marketability.

The technology is there... so use it, Sony. Bundle a headset so everyone can enjoy playing their games and talking with people. That's one reason that strays me away from the PS3. I love playing online, and I love meeting new people and talking with them whilst we're playing, but when no one has a headset, it seems rather dull to me to even have that system.

so everyone can enjoy...talking with people
Because that's what PS3 really needs. More fagets talking while playing games. HEY EVERYBODY

REMEMBER HOW GREAT PLAYSTATION HOME WITH VOICE IS?

Because a mute button isn't enough... Right..

You shouldn't be worried too much about the hardware. If something does manage to happen it will be fixed free of charge. You should worry about what you'll actually be playing and make your decision. Asking about which console is more reliable is obvious and going to lead to hate against the 360.

Imo a true gamer will have all of the consoles. Each have variety and there own unique games. 360 has the largest catalog of games while Wii offers fun, original games. PS3 is similar to 360 but lacks in the software department. But if you're a fan of Metal Gear, Grand Turismo, Etc then you'll want one.

You realize how much you'd be using that mute button? What games are you even going to be playing online that require any sort of communication at all?

Oh wait

Wii offers fun, original games
I agree with this poster. The Wii has the funnest, most original games.

From consoles circa 1992.

Available for 500 Wii points each.

Sega going shite has left Darkside a bitter husk of a man :(

*looks to the heavens*

Why??!!!?!

so, in summary, hl2.net suggests you buy a karaoke machine and a panini maker.

And that's the main reason I got a PS3. I don't need any fancy extras that LIVE! has and does so well. I just want to play my game online with other people...so PS3 does exactly that for free for me. I like Free.

I have never had any hardware problems with my PS3 and I've had it since launch.

Pitz I'm greatly saddened that we have never played anything together.

Everybody listen to this man. This is truly the most fun you can have with your money. Singing and toasted sandwiches.

SINGING

AND TOASTED SANDWICHES

You think you can have more fun with current gen consoles than that? Eff no you can't. You're stupid and you don't even know. You make yourself a panino with some prosciutto, mozzarella, put some tomatoes on there and some basil...does PS3 come with basil?! Fuck no it don't! And good luck toasting 360 without RROD. And Wii can't read tomato format.

Goddamn you can get yourself some ham and Gruyere and that's already worth the price of the machine.

And then you've still got singing. Singing with a toasted sandwich in your hand.

Goddamn, this poster's some kinda genius. I wish I could nominate you for an award, son.

You could just get a basic foreman grill or something, which will cook a whole crapload of stuff at a far superior level. Toasted sandwiches are still the best you're gonna get, but there's no reason to limit yourself. I suppose I agree.

Panini maker has the best exclusives though.

George Foreman grill is for casuals who want easy-mode sandwiches.

I own a Foreman grill

Well yeah, but you really gotta factor in DLC.

/sucks at metaphors

Dijon, lettuce, and cilantro pesto? It ain't that expensive. Plus you don't HAVE to make your sandwiches with any of that stuff; DLC is extra. YOU DON'T ACTUALLY HAVE TO BUY IT.

In before cilantrofags complaining

Darkside made this thread suck :p

*I want a Foreman Grill.*

Darkside made this thread beautiful :p

Fixed.

Really, though, the performanceof the panini maker is quite stunning, but the foreman's system is pretty outdated.

I've never seen you online but ONCE! You big jerky.

Haha. I haven't even turned my PS3 on in a few weeks.

I have a PS3, is it normal for it to just lockup sometimes when playing a game? Doesn't happen to often, but enough to annoy me.

That's like asking if it's normal for a human to lockup and stop breathing for several minutes.
