I have an XFI gamer and use the 'Game' mode when playing games like TF2 and BF2.

I find the bass is way too high when I have my Creative HS-600 headset on. Is there a way I can lower the bass? I plug the headset straight into the card so its got to be something in the Audio Console but I cant find the setting

Disable or enable CMSS 3D to see if it makes a different. Make sure no crap options like the crystalizer are enabled. Disable bass boost in the THX control panel. If it's still too much bass it's your headset.

if I disable CMSS 3D I dont get the virtual surround sound that works so well with the xfi, i disbaled it butt still got the same level of bass

I dont ahve the THX panel BUT..... i double clied teh audio icon in the system tray and then Advanced for PLay and there it bass and trable control .... voila!

You should have the bass boost option mentioned by Brick, and you could also check the equalizer settings as well, and maybe lower the lower frequencies slightly (which in effect is doing the same as the bass and treble controls you mention)
