xfire

It's actually really good for multiplayer games. You can talk in game like with steam, and join any game you like. The only thing is that steam is better (apart from the fact that you can never sign into freinds), so just use that for HL based games. I never use it though, as the only games i play are steam-based games or RTS, and you can't just "join" an RTS game, so Xfire is useless for those. Basically the only game i would use it for is UT2k4- but i hardly play it.... so basically i don't use it.

feel free to add me- Suicide42 is my name :)

When I play multiplayer games I usually play with my friend so we just start up a voice server thingy on TeamSpeak and use it whilst playing games. Makes playing games alot easier, especially strategy games when we are on the same team.

I used to use voice comm in games, but I'd end up talking to people instead of playing, then after an hour, I'd be bored and come away not having really done anything :\

Why not, imagine the instant advantage she'd have with just a few words, they'd all freeze at realising a guurrrl is in the game. Time enough to get a few headshots in ;)

yeh Xfire is great, instat messaging while in game is just a god send. Oh a using mics in CSS with mates make the game indefinantly better :D

Meh never saw a use to it I have no friends :D. I just join random servers from steam or go to msn and ask someone if they want a game. I think i unistalled xfire, it annoys me :p

It apparently messes with steam and is borderline spyware, I think i'll pass.

I had xfire, and a random person on the forums added me, but that was it lol, i've got no friends who use it so, i got rid of it :)

ive had absolutely no trouble with it at all
I haven't had problems either, are you making this up?

Yea its convient the way you can talk while actually playing games, with no (noticable) effect on performance. The only thing i had to do was disable damn message sounds, they sound worse than my alarm clock in the early friggin morning.
