Well, I am never told what im getting, thats half the fun of xmas, and I never tell others what Im getting them. A friend of mine on the other hand knows what he gets, so I cant see the fun of unwrapping.. Sooo anyways, which do you do/prefer?

bah humbug! i like to have my presents asap!! screw the suprise crap!

i love surprises.. unless they are like "oh.. a sweatshirt.. how.. nice.. " hehe.. but well.. i love to give presents more than receiving them (ok.. bash me.. hehe)

btw: LOL at "you...get presents? :(" good laugh! :D

I'm getting a sports exaust for my car...

I would normally like to wait till christmas...

Why does everyone write out "xmas"? Are 5 more letters that hard to type out?

Anyway, yeah, I'd like to know.

I didnt write 'xmas'.

I dont like being included under your massive, oppressive 'everyone' banner...

:p

I know half of what im getting.. my dads got me a surprise... it looks like books, so i am half worried here....

I like to tell people what i want or give them a choice between things i've asked for. It saves disapointment because its horrible when you get smoething you already have or dont like and you have to say thanks... :o

I'm 15 I can still demand the type of gift.

Athlon 3000 +xp Barton for me :D

Well..I have to ASK what I am getting, so that way my parents don't get me some random thing that I don't like...

This year I asked for a 19" monitor, and instead of asking for a certain type I said "Surprise me.."

So..that is the biggest surprise I'll get.

I give a list of 70 or so things, and get random things off that list, I love the suprise, thinking that I'm getting one thing and getting something totally opposite

^^I also give a list which is cool but i dont find out til the day-much better than getting money cos that would be blown on something stupid...Also get some stuff that wassnt on a list but people think i would actually like (usually dead on the money 2)

I prefer to not know what I'm getting.. but I've had to order everything this year myself since my parents don't know the first thing about paintball/the internet... which has kinda ruined it, but oh well :)

I must know what I am getting, its just such a relief to me when I do find out whether its early or on time.

Dont wonna know.. except for the money... need to plan :p

Already know what I'm getting.Made a list of what I wanted and my step mom went out and bought'em.

I'd rather not know what I'm getting, though the temptation to find out was awful as a kid heh.

I always know what im getting. I mean you ASK for things lol. I dont want some random shit lol. Money!!

Well, I got my Integra..Have had it for a few days now...Then my mom got me some other things I don't know about...

It just seems pointless and lazy.

Like writing "u" instead of "you".

It's not pointless, it's easy. Besides, Christmas isn't about the birth of christ anymore, it's about the birth of Santa :D. So putting Xmas would seem more appropriate.

Anyways, I already received most of my presents.
Half-Life 2 and Ghost Recon 2 were two of them. I'm also buying some clothes of the net so I know what I'm getting and I usually get money so...ya.

Merry "X"mas!

Just for the record, "X-mas" has its roots in Christianity too.

It's used because the topic of religion is to sensitive. People say Xmas so they don't offend anyone.

Also because of the commercialism of Christmas.

X-mas:
SYLLABICATION: X·mas
PRONUNCIATION: krsms, ksms
NOUN: Christmas.
ETYMOLOGY: From X, the Greek letter chi, first letter of Greek Khrstos, Christ. See Christ.
USAGE NOTE: Xmas has been used for hundreds of years in religious writing, where the X represents a Greek chi, the first letter of , “Christ.” In this use it is parallel to other forms like Xtian, “Christian.” But people unaware of the Greek origin of this X often mistakenly interpret Xmas as an informal shortening pronounced (ksms). Many therefore frown upon the term Xmas because it seems to them a commercial convenience that omits Christ from Christmas.

So yes, merry X-mas everyone.

wow, this thread has turned into a whine-all about which way to write it

Doesn't ****ing matter, go complain about HL2 stuttering cause your running it twice as high as the recommended settings for your ancient PC's why don'tchall :p

Not knowing what you get is part of christmas for me, I get all giddy like a kid :P
