XP Home or Professional?

If you have the choice, I recommend Pro.
If you are stuck with Home, it isn't a huge deal.

The skinny on Home VS Pro:
+can support a Two-way multi-processor system (Dual CPUs).
+has a Encrypting File System that protects data in files and are stored on disk using NTFS.
+can restrict access to select files, apps, and othe resources for each user.
+uses Group Policy to simplify administration of groups of users/computers
+Automaticlly install, configure, repair, or remove apps
+access to all your documents and settings no matter where you log on

Another Chart comparison.
I'm not sure why they say Pro cannot do Fast User Account Switching because I can do it on my PC w/WinXP Pro if I enable it.
Perhaps they are just saying it is default off rather than default on.

:hmph: Damn, Pro has a good amount of things Home doesn't have... I have Home edition sadly.

Plus Professional has a good amount of extra networking capabilities (I didn't read that link, just mentioning this in case they didn't mention it in the article). Also, some guys I know have had trouble networking with a Mac on Home. I don't know if it really doesn't work or if they're just retarded.

No, getting 2 computers to network requires more luck than anything else. Heck, I can't even use a crossover cable between my computer (XP Home) and my friends laptop (Windows 2000). Sharing an internet connection is easy, but setting up a network is still incredible hard to do with windows.

Anyways, XP Professional is the way to go.
