Could someone point in the direction of the first tut I shoudl take with XSI, I am doing one right now that I thought would be good for a first one, but it keeps telling me stuff like... "Select Uni and scale equally" I have no idea where uni is, so maybe this is a bit head. Its called Tutorial 2: Basics.

XSI tutorials

Hey,

I started on this one....

There was a big of 'do blah' but after a few clicks here and there
managed to do most of it.

One thing though, I still don't know how to export to SMD files for import
into SDK. Some tutorials talk of simply select File->Export the select SMD.
But the 'model' within the export menu is greyed out, and I've not been able
to export as SMD yet. If you find this out, tell me!

Assuming you're using the mod tool, install the valvesource.addon, and it will add a Valve menu along the upper right that you can use to export your models.

I used that ed harriss tut, and it got me going pretty nicely.

Thanks, yes there's a Valve menu and I can export. Yay.

I got confused, partly I'm silly, and partly the tutorial I was using
told me to look in the file->export menu. Doh.
