Now.. I don't think there has been ANY talk about a Half-Life movie... But I do like to day dream about it! I think Half-Life would make a great movie! The game has an AMAZING plot and great characters! I mean... You could have Morgan Freeman as Eli! Ha! I dunno? I can't think of anyon else! Hugh Lori could pull off Gordan pretty well I think! Gordon never talks in the game... So he could use a british accent or his american one! I can really only think of Sean Connery as Dr. Bream! LOL! I dunno? I think someone could pull it off if you have the right people and the right director! I'm a big fan of Peter Jackson! I think he would make a good candidate! What do you think? Anyone got any feedback?

I think it would make a brilliant movie ive never played the doom games but the film was brilliant

Someone liked the Doom film, oh dear.

No, Half-Life will not make a good film because games simply cannot make good films. Valve will not accept any scripts anyway, because they know better than to trust Holywood with a game like theirs.

End of.

What are you, retarded?

Staying on topic, a Half-Life movie could be cool but I doubt they'd pack it all in and do it well. Also wtf Morgan Freeman as Eli. It has to be Robert Guillaume.

If they were to make a movie I'm sure they would want to at least finish all three episodes but I personally wouldn't want a Half life movie because knowing Hollywood they would only mess up the great master piece that is Half life.

The Doom film, the rock's big break...what is he doing now by the way? Shocking piece of turd.

Still waiting for Tetris the movie.

God, The Sims: The Movie. I hope someone got fired over that.

Not only were The Mummy Returns, and The Scorpion King his real big breaks (I mention both because he played the same character), but since Doom he's done more movies and games than either of us. :(

Well, this is quite an entrance to the forum. Welcome!

riomhaire, that was awesome.

lol at the amount of people flaming him for simply enjoying a film ... it's just sad. I enjoyed it but meh :upstare: as for a Half-Life movie, just no.

I think it could make an excellent movie, but the odds are too high that it would wind up being shite. The storyline is there for sure - Valve's done their homework - but it's too easy to do wrong, and that would be awful.

If there is, and I'm very wary about that, Alyx would have to be played by Rosario Dawson.

Enjoying it and saying it's brilliant are sort of different. I could say I enjoyed I, Robot, which is embarrassing all in itself, but I'd never in a million years say it was a brilliant film.

I've heard Ralph Fiennes has signed on to play the role of Q-Bert in a blockbuster addaptation scheduled for release this Christmas. Personally, I've always seen him in the role of Dig Dug.

for gods sake, when will this hl2 movie thing from fellow scanners ever end. i guess we have no choice but to bear with them

Well, I know Holywood has never done a great job... But I'm sure if you had the right people and the right Cast ans director? You could pull it off! I think Ron Livingston could probably pull of Barney! I mean... I know the possibility of a Half-Life movie being created is VERY slim. But I know it could make a great movie! the only thing I Would be afraid of would be the wrong person directing it and the wrong cast and not giving the game any Credit! Well, It was just a thought! I enjoy the games very much! And am much happy to just play the games! It's like a movie itself!

he would make a good Eli too!

^^^^I can picture Ed Norton as Gordon...

Also, I've always said Danny Glover would be great for Eli.

It would appear G4 agrees with you:

I don't care much for their other choices. Ed Burns as Gordon? I dunno, personally I much prefer it when Gordon is played by me, IN THE ACTUAL GAME.

Sean Connery as Breen, what the f*ck. Just because of the white hair and dark eyebrows?

Christopher Walken as G-Man is just hilarious in my mind. LOL

Ron Livingston should be Barney. Totally.

umm its really possible to make a half life movie you know that right? take out all of the little battles and puzzles . take out the long tedious areas in the game that take awhile and finally you have a movie out of it. i mean they can easily make 2 movies out of it because they can add the 7 hours war into the story line.

Well, roughly speaking (really roughly speaking), Half-Life 2 was a lot of cinamatic set-pieces strung together by brilliant pacing and bits and pieces of plot.

Well, I really thing Hugh Lori could pull it off! Not only does he have a likeness to Gordon but hes also an Amazing Actor!

Hugh Laurie is too old. I could see Guy Pearce in the role, possibly just because he's worn horn-rimmed glasses before (as Ed Exley in LA Confidential).

Two threads about half life movies.

...

I'm not coming here anymore... ;_;

I agree. Connery is awesome but he doesn't really fit the part. Also he's retired. Livingston was first in my mind for Barney too, after that show Standoff.

Hugh Laurie is absolutely not too old. FFS he's in his 30's. Guy Pearce would be a good choice too, however.

So it's still enough of a reason to flame him ? I think not.

Eh? How is a guy who was born in 1959 in his 30s? Is this the new metric aging system I've been hearing about?

Welcome to the internet. It is not a nice place. Stupidity is absolutely not good. Stupidity is liking the Doom movie and calling it brilliant. If someone told me that outside of the internet, I'd still say "Wow, you're a retard and your taste in movies sucks the big one."

Wow, that's embarrassing. *Hangs head in shame*

Of course it is. I've called people names for much less. I wouldn't be surprised if I was ragged on for the next few pages about not being able to subtract 1959 from 2007. That's how we roll.

Aw, but I can see what you mean about Laurie. He's got a depth and an edginess that would help elevate Gordon above the standard action hero, and he'd be believable as a nuclear physicist. Still, it's kind of hard to imagine him in the HEV suit...well, for that matter, the HEV might just look goofy on any actor in a motion picture.

lol .. I still don't see the logic in that. How can someone be refered to as stupid if they like a movie that others don't ? Fair enough if it's an opinion, but it should be something you keep to yourself, not bombard the person liking the movie with insults.

So if someone said that Uwe Boll films are brilliant you'd not call them stupid? I wouldn't, I'd tell them to go ****ing drown themselves in horse manure. Stupid is a tame insult, and one that works perfectly well when someone really does have a stupid opinion.
