Actually, a Half Life movie should focus on the side stories. You could do quite a simple story with Barney or Eli escaping Black Mesa, for instance.

Yea, the movie doesn't have to go along with Gordon's timeline of the Half-Life universe.
The movie could even be JUST about the Seven Hour War with some side-comments somewhere in there like "Sir, someone blew up Nova Prospekt"-"Wtf soldier!".
There are so many minor or major events NOT concerning Gordon's rampage that you can make a movie from.

If they were to make a movie I'm sure they would want to at least finish all three episodes but I personally wouldn't want a Half life movie because knowing Hollywood they would only mess up the great master piece that is Half life.

Valve has nothing to do with End-Life. It's being made by fans. I'm hoping to have some illustrations in it...

Ahh, I see what you mean. Actually, that's something that has been debated there, and I'm pretty sure they're not going to have anything about the Combine's defeat.

Good to see people thinking this way, because I think this would be the only way to make a Half Life movie. I personally, would easily be supportive of a Half Life movie if it was based on the overall story and not focused Gordon Freeman. To me, it's EASILY movie material.

And yes, I'm sorry to say I can't help but feel scorn towards the notion that Doom was by any means a brilliant movie. I didn't even think it was good.

The Silent Hill movie was pretty nice, but it could have been soooo much better. So many parts of it were too damn cringe-inducing. However, the imagery is spot-on aand, well, Silent Hill is my favorite game franchise next to the HL games. lol
