I just finished watching it. I must say this, HALFLIFE2 by far is da best game ever created. Doom3 is nothing to the level of realistic valve has putin in this game. I admit by 2006-07 things will change but until that time HL2 will still on top of all games.

Its just fun.

At least everything in Doom 3 had shadows.

None the less, yeah - I love these small visual effects valve has put in the game - it's things like these that makes the game very realistic.

Oh, if only doom 3 had the outside environment of HL2, D3 would recieve a higher score (IMO). I just hope Half Life 2 has powerful sounds. Its the sound and ambience what really makes a game along with the visuals, of course, but having weak sounds doesn't immerse a player well enough.

Doom 3 had nerf gun sounds. No Wonder that dude was laughing in the background everytime you shot that hand gun lol.

I think the only game I haven't modded sound-wise was Raven Shield. Very powerful and crisp and realistic sounds made the gaming experience very real.

Did anyone else notice the part in the article that hinted that the release may be ealier on Steam than in stores?

Not got broadband? You'll have to head for a regular store. You might also have to contend with receiving it a few days later than the Steam crowd, although final details of the timing have yet to be announced.
