Looks potentially very cool. I prefer this setting to anything too modern. I'll have to keep an eye on this one.

May be the lead character used a space portal that take him back in time where he is remember as a legendary Yakuza king and brings his favorite pokemon into the past and takes over the world.

Sounds good to me...

Yakuza 1 was a great game, Yakuza 2 hasn't been released here and I don't think it will, since the first one didn't sell very good, plus localization and translations of these games take like a year since they are very japanese, a lot of dialogs and text.
I finished the first one, it was really good, I hope they bring this one here, I doubt it though...

If it's a good game it will make it to the west - Sony aren't in a position to not bother with decent titles games at the moment. Considering all the fuss they've made about Blu-ray and being able to cater for multiple languages too, there would be no excuse.

I hope you're right, liked I said before it's a good franchise...

I personally think it's an absolutely terrible franchise. The combat is not very engaging and it uses that goddamn random battle system of walking 3 feet , queuing stereotypically stupid Japanese "RAWR FIGHT" music every 15 seconds of gameplay. It was just terrible. And the storyline was truly, undeniably, hilariously awful.

Although the chance to see Japanese people (who probably worked on anime crap for the entirety of their professional career) try and make a gritty crime game was amazing. If I recall there was one part where you spent a decent deal of time looking for a lost puppy. You spent a good chunk of the game watching over some little girl.

But that's besides the point. The game was BAD. There was nothing to it but repetitive fights, and the fights were not good.

yakuza's voice acting SUCKED. but the game's plot was amazing, your typical yakuza betrayal/backstabbing kind of story line.
