would of been an interesting angle, certainly has me wishing to see his take on the role. love the guy in alien, and his work in homicide was pretty dynamite too.

however, thread title had me expecting something different.

This is slightly off subject, but Edward James Olmos (he is not in that list) has said that he was once offered the role of Picard but turned it down because, at the time, scifi didn't appeal to him. Looking back now, that would have been a pretty interesting casting choice as well.
