Yes, it's CG

This is absolutely amazing.

The building with unfolding wing like things is a real building. It's the Milwaukee art museum and its super cool! I've been there many times.

See... Wisconsin has something good! I mean something other than beer and cheese.

I'd love to know the render times. Must have used a farm.

Crazy stuff though, really hard to tell its CG.

not only its the 3D modeling etc etc. really well done...but just the piece is beautifully directed and esthetically pleasing.

kudos to the makers.

Even I am thoroughly flabbergasted. The only part that really looked fake was the jet trails when the plane flew across the screen. But god damn, the rest was amazing. And to think, in 10 years we'll probably have game graphics at that level.

What's really impressive is that the one guy did it all.

It's a nice video but the CG nothing that hasn't been seen before.

Structures and plastic/metal objects are the easiest objects to make look real in CG. Just look on CGTalk.

Very great video, besides if this has been done before I still think its impressive and hopefully inspires more to create art

also how cool if Episode 3 looked this good?? you'd probably need 64GB of Ram, 16 core processors, Intel Pentium 6 chip, and a video card with 128GB of Ram

I browse CG society a lot, and barely anything I see comes close to this kind of quality. Especially when you see it in motion like in this video. Even professional studios with teams of amazing artists who get paid thousands and thousands of dollars to do this stuff for films rarely come this close to photorealism.

The only thing I can think of that really came close, even with a moving camera, is a piece my Marek Denko

You can see it moving in his (now 4 year old) demo reel and it looks pretty damn realistic.

Quite a few of the parts stood out as CG to me. Not because I know its CG, but it's just something that seems immediately perceptible to me, kind of like when you're listening to an audio clip with audio that is only slightly off sync where you just pick it up instantly.

All still looks incredibly amazing though. And yeah the jet trails did look really fake to me. It looked like they were moving down while also moving along the path.... hard to explain it really.

This scene also had a touch of being immediately distinguishably fake to my eye, and not just because it looks so alien.

what was that video with the two fighting robots (nazi vs allied)?

I refuse to beleive that this is CG unless it took ten years to render on a super pc that can can print more money than bill gates has ever owned in 50 seconds and figure every possible move in a game of chess in 6 months...

...and have six windows of crysis open at one time with no lag...

Truly impressive. However I'm guessing the character at the end is real, right?

Someone fetch me a poet to articulate what I just saw.

i wish i got into video editing shit when i was younger...what's the best way to learn (website, book, whatever?)

i'll have a video better than this in a week, tops...
