Yet again, Sony stumbles into another level

Hahaha! Its too bad you feel that way! There is such a huge amount of gaming goodness that Sony has brought to the community that trying to make a list here would be absurd. Suffice to say that the games that the PS1/PS2 have to offer are easily some of the absolute best ever created. And with such a huge variety of games to choose from, I find it hard to believe that you think everything else out there is better. Oh well. To each his/her own.

I honestly don't care what they lie about as long as the games kick-ass and the HD movies work.

OK, first of all, why would I say that if I didn't believe it? A new PC, a 360, or the Wii would be my choice. Thats what I mean by everything else. You find it hard to believe about me, but I find it hard to believe that you have much fun with your PS1/PS2, considering I haven't even wanted to turn mine on since I finished Grand Theft Auto - Vice City, and got an Xbox and a PC and found out where the good games are.

The only 2 games from Sony that I have ever liked were Gran Tourismo and Ico. I'm not sure what Sony had to do with anything else, besides offering a medium for games, which is no more than other consoles do.

Part of my disgust with Sony has been their Gran Tourismo game. As a big fan of the first game, it has been very disappointing for the past 3 games, and they seem to care less and less about games, and more and more about strategies and money, so I expect the next Gran Tourismo to be another nearly $700 after tax disappointment. Thats ridiculous. I could buy a real car and drive it around like that, who needs a simulator?

It's going to be a High rez version of a PS1 game. Come now, they sold everyone a modem, then didn't even make GT4 on-line. The AI is totally the same from their game 10 years ago, so there wasn't any fun in that.

From Microsoft, they've got Forza Motorsport 2. It really is so far ahead of Gran Tourismo, that you don't need a PSP with a hundred dollar memory card plugged in for a rear-view mirror. You know it's way ahead. And this PSP rear-view feature that Sony is trying to push won't even be used by Gran Tourismo, you can count on that. If they won't support their own ideas, what makes them think that other games will?

On the PS2, they couldn't even get Resident Evil for like 6 years, thanks to Gamecube, so that totally blew. Final FantasyX was OK, but what else? Yes, Ico was pretty cool. I loved Grand Theft Auto Vice City, but most of these games can be had on other game systems, and they were better.

So, besides ICO - which might not see a game on the PS3 for 6 years or more, and it certainly isn't a system seller - there is nothing else from Sony that I can't find on the 360 or PC, in fact there are more and better games here, and the price of admission isn't an arm or leg.

They are just so full of shit, the only thing they released over the past couple of years were misleading pre-rendered videos they were blatantly trying to pass off as gameplay. That is just dishonest, and I hope you guys don't feel like a total dumb-ass when you sell some organs to buy a PS3 and a couple games, and the games look worse than 360 and PC. The actual gameplay demos at E3 were no where near the pre-rendered trailers they have been 'leaking' for the past 2 years. They looked almost as good as the 360.

I could make a list of 20 games coming soon for 360 that are some of the best games ever made.

These are signs that Sony actually has some base competiton, and not just some annoying flys to slap out of their way. I think sony is becoming more than just concerned about the XBOX 360 and probably the Wii as well. They didn't have a good E3 this year, and the games I've seen so far (actual gameplay) are not very impressive. This could be the first time sony had some real competition in terms of gaming, and they are not handling it well.

I totally agree Dream431

I also should say that if you like what the PS3 offers and are getting one, then go on and do it, I'm not trying to insult your decision. Everyone has their own ideas of what is good and what isn't.

This is most definitely not the first time Sony has had serious competition in the gaming department. This is just the first time Sony slipped hard enough for people to legitimately notice alternatives.

As a rule, most gamers are very territorial, and tend to stick to one company. For the most part, these consumers are satiated enough to not have to look to other consoles for good software. But this time, Sony messed up, and a great deal of their 70-odd-percent of the console consumer base is finally looking to alternatives, and noticing that the competition, be it hardware or software, is just as good as what they found on the PS2.

I actually meant that Sony provided said medium, so if you look at it that way, they brought a lot of great gaming to us all (except you of course :cheese:). But point taken--you don't like games on Sony consoles. Again, I gotta say its hard to believe since there are so many more games for the PS1/2 than anything else, but you are still entitled to feel that way so you go boy!

That would be a most interesting list. In all seriousness, I can't think of 5. Still that's your opinion and my opinion and, as always, they will vary.

hahah that was pretty funny :D

Yea, but I've made that list last month. YOu want a list of good games for 360 but then you'll just say, "half of those are coming to PC". Well, that may be true, but My Pc CANNOT play them, so, I don't have a PC, basically. :)

So that is why my must have 360 games are up in the 20's. You guys will see what I mean in the near future - lots of good games coming. I can't wait.

All companies lie don't act like Sony are the only ones *cough Microsoft WINFS cough*. What matters are the games as they decide which console people buy in the long run.

i think there is a substantial difference to outright lying and stupid public comments and having a very ambitious project and under delivering (winfs), especially when you have all the lemmings on the web overplaying/picking on every single thing you do (ms).

sony said the ps3 will be awesome blah blah, and ms said YEARS AGO that winfs won't be included with longhorn [vista] and that it's a hard project blah blah.

also, since winfs was originally a longhorn feature which has been cut, how many others have been cut.. efi and ? yeah, not a whole lot.

you need a new example. :p

does the ps3 still have a release date, if so, what is it ?
