VictimOfScience said:Hahaha! Its too bad you feel that way! There is such a huge amount of gaming goodness that Sony has brought to the community that trying to make a list here would be absurd. Suffice to say that the games that the PS1/PS2 have to offer are easily some of the absolute best ever created. And with such a huge variety of games to choose from, I find it hard to believe that you think everything else out there is better. Oh well. To each his/her own.
I honestly don't care what they lie about as long as the games kick-ass and the HD movies work.
OK, first of all, why would I say that if I didn't believe it? A new PC, a 360, or the Wii would be my choice. Thats what I mean by everything else. You find it hard to believe about me, but I find it hard to believe that you have much fun with your PS1/PS2, considering I haven't even wanted to turn mine on since I finished Grand Theft Auto - Vice City, and got an Xbox and a PC and found out where the good games are.PS1/PS2 have to offer are easily some of the absolute best ever created. The only 2 games from Sony that I have ever liked were Gran Tourismo and Ico. I'm not sure what Sony had to do with anything else, besides offering a medium for games, which is no more than other consoles do.
Part of my disgust with Sony has been their Gran Tourismo game. As a big fan of the first game, it has been very disappointing for the past 3 games, and they seem to care less and less about games, and more and more about strategies and money, so I expect the next Gran Tourismo to be another nearly $700 after tax disappointment. Thats ridiculous. I could buy a real car and drive it around like that, who needs a simulator?
It's going to be a High rez version of a PS1 game. Come now, they sold everyone a modem, then didn't even make GT4 on-line. The AI is totally the same from their game 10 years ago, so there wasn't any fun in that.
From Microsoft, they've got Forza Motorsport 2. It really is so far ahead of Gran Tourismo, that you don't need a PSP with a hundred dollar memory card plugged in for a rear-view mirror. You know it's way ahead. And this PSP rear-view feature that Sony is trying to push won't even be used by Gran Tourismo, you can count on that. If they won't support their own ideas, what makes them think that other games will?
On the PS2, they couldn't even get Resident Evil for like 6 years, thanks to Gamecube, so that totally blew. Final FantasyX was OK, but what else? Yes, Ico was pretty cool. I loved Grand Theft Auto Vice City, but most of these games can be had on other game systems, and they were better.
So, besides ICO - which might not see a game on the PS3 for 6 years or more, and it certainly isn't a system seller - there is nothing else from Sony that I can't find on the 360 or PC, in fact there are more and better games here, and the price of admission isn't an arm or leg.
They are just so full of shit, the only thing they released over the past couple of years were misleading pre-rendered videos they were blatantly trying to pass off as gameplay. That is just dishonest, and I hope you guys don't feel like a total dumb-ass when you sell some organs to buy a PS3 and a couple games, and the games look worse than 360 and PC. The actual gameplay demos at E3 were no where near the pre-rendered trailers they have been 'leaking' for the past 2 years. They looked almost as good as the 360.
I could make a list of 20 games coming soon for 360 that are some of the best games ever made.
