There are no need for debates anymore. Time is recognizing the explosive growth and influence of user-generated Internet content such as YouTube, MySpace, and blogs.

So true. I had bets on the creators of YouTube.

It's true. With the introduction of those services, no longer do people need to rely on reality TV shows to show the world they are an asshat. They now just post a link and get all the publicity they want. No need for those lengthy tryouts and auditions for TV. Yay for the internets, bringing retards closer together everyday. :|

My fifteen minutes of fame are pretty shitty. I have to share it with all you flesh piles.

Might as well get the most recognition I can by killing as many of you as possible before daybreak.

Please tell us about the time you were elected: "Time Magazine Person of the Year 2006"

"Well..."

I don't use myspace, blogs or youtube.

Neither do I, neither do I.

Although I occasionally search for videos on YouTube and have an account with them for the sole purpose of accessing flagged content :naughty: It's not like I waste my time uploading videos or socializing. No, I don't quite consider myself a YouTube user. Don't f****** insult me suggesting otherwise.

notice the Crysler add on the time.com article page:
"You might not be the person of the Year but you can drive like one"
oops.

Time's man of the year is meaningless, they've given that "honor" to Hitler, Stalin (twice), Bush jr. (twice).

I'd say I'd eat my hat when KngHenry got person of the year award.

*pulls out knife and fork

Lets get this over with

The aim is to pick "the person or persons who most affected the news and our lives, for good or for ILL, and embodied what was important about the year, for better or for worse".

You don't think they deserved the award?

You have selected you, referring to me. That is incorrect, the correct answer is; You!

The award is meant to go to the most newsworthy person that year. I'm fairly positive Hitler was newsworthy for many years. I still think Osama bin Laden should have gotten Person of the Year for 2001.

As for this year, I have to imagine that there was someone else who was more newsworthy than internet users posting youtube videos of people getting hit in the crotch or rapping poorly to shitty music.

"Man of the Year" was never about electing the best man, it's about election the most influential.

Yay for me, BTW! :bounce:
