You eat bugs

I paint with bugs

Shellac is a resin secreted by the female lac bug to form a cocoon, on trees in the forests of India and Thailand. It is processed and sold as dry flakes, which are dissolved in denatured alcohol to make liquid shellac, which is used as a brush-on colorant, food glaze and wood finish.

It continues to be a popular candy glaze for pill shaped sweets such as Skittles. Shellac is not vegetarian.

we're actually more bacteria than human...which doesn't bug me at all. also some people have more bugs living on them than others.

Meh. We should eat a lot more bugs, as an alternative to meat. It would be better for everything. Not that I do it, just saying.

Not a big fan of insects. The war between bugs and man will rage until the end days.

When I was a kid, I used to paint with lightning bug's glowing goo. Cool glowing streak when you step and smear.

Lightning bugs? The correct term is

No, "Original television soundtrack." As in, I like to go out on summer nights and catch ORIGINAL TELEVISION SOUNDTRACKS in jars.

ass.

Certain bugs should never be harmed nor captured; the firefly is one of them. I deeply regret many misguided deeds of childhood.

I knew this for a long, long time. Comes from liking the 1700's pirate era and all the trading that went on, as well as being fascinated by the Aztecs and Mayans.

I was going to be a trader in Pirates of the Burning Sea too... until I realized it wasn't up to expectations.

I can't believe red Skittles are coated in bug secretions.

It's not simply bug secretions. It's the bugs themselves.

But meh... don't be so alarmed. You know where gelatin comes from, right?

I don't see how anyone can find this disgusting. I read this thread and wanted some Skittles.

i don't find it gross at all but i'm not sure why that is...could it be i'm used to eating these things or do i not find ingesting bug matter problematic?

Isn't it also true that you swallow insects while sleeping? Or is that spiders? Either way, bugs are bugs, and they are edible and are protein.

That's what I thought the topic of this thread would be. Urban legend though.

There are some flying insects (fruit flies, flies and gnats come to mind) that may invade the eyes, ears, and nose, or scavenge for food particles around these areas, but I do not believe a spider would dare going into a human mouth. Really unbelievable. Also, spiders eat insects and other spiders. They won't be interested in the sugary scum and bacteria in your mouth.
