the LaCie Bigger Disk allows users to store nearly two years of continuous music and up to one month of non-stop MPEG-2 video

hahaha!

linky:
BIG HDD

Time to dig up $1200 for this baby... hmmmm.

It's actually about the same price as 4 250G HDDs.

Think! You'll never have to delete again!

Take a look at the new Alienware ALX systems. You can get two 800gb hdd's, for a toal of 1.6 terabytes. Wow.

I've never used more than 30GB why would I need 1 TB?

I'm product testing that one right now....checking if it would be good for the home media PCs category

if i remember right on the matrix special features...they said they had 100 tb of CG material

Ahh, the matrix, why'd they have to fuc*k up the last part so badly. All they had to do is let the machines win and it would have been great.

that's not that special
I already have 0.4 TB in my PC and it only cost me like $250 after rebates...

I dont think I would ever need more then 80gb's but thats just me.

Wow. Who would need that much space? :|
/me cuddles his 40gb harddrive.

I just bought a 120 gigabyte ide-disk. I didn't choose it because of the size, though. Basically, even 20 gigabytes would suffice. For many years, I've been storing all kinds of shit on my drives. I have an insane amount old and new backup CDs. But when I think about it, most of the stuff I have is worthless shit that I never use. And when you've got 500 gigabytes of data, how will you make backup copies? Because sooner or later you will start to worry about your disk crashing (which is just a matter of time). It's really exhausting to manage backups.

Its nothing special with that. Thats 4 western digital 250gb disks in that. Think about it... if one of those disks crash... everything crashes... fun? not really.

An oh, you do need more than 30GB. I just got a new 200GB for my anime and i only have 20GB left :( ;)

What puzzles me about the Bigger Disk is that you apparently can't use it as a RAID array. RAID could make the entire thing much more failsafe.
