Okay, so what were your favourite moments in the original Half-Life? I.e. favourite chapters, etc. Include popular MODs aswell if you want (OpFor, BlueShift, etc.)

My personal favourite chapter was Surface Tension, and one of my favorite moments was when you come to the bridge guarded by the helicopter, and have to go up to the tower and then swim through the tunnel underneath the bridge, letting you emerge at the other side (whilst avoiding or killing the Ichthyosaur in the water lol).

Forget About Freeman was a sweet chapter. Just after you call in the airstrike on the Big Blue :p. That bit rocked  Actually, theres so many cool moments in Half-Life, I just can't make up my mind lol.

When I first met the Tentacles, I really opened up my eyes for the game. Just so awesome. Surface tension was cool too.

The beginning, and when you met the enemy soldiers.

My favourite part is at the end of "Office Complex", where you have to jump across the elevator shaft and grab the ladders. That whole scene was cool: the scientist jumping out the window and the zombie crushing through the wall, and then that one zombie jumping down from the upper catwalk.

hehe, thats mine too :)

worst part was obviously Xen, was such a ball ache jumping across those platforms :/

The opening scene, with the experiment.

A part I disliked (not as in, bad game design, but more like 'oh no') was where you get to the surface and think 'yay, finally out of those claustrophobic corridors', until you find out you have to go back down. Can't remember what the name of the level was though.

Was that the part where there's a helicopter, and you have to run to the other side (avoiding the soldiers behind the fence) and go down the drain type hole? If that's the part you mean, I actually quite liked it because it was the first glimpse of the surface lol.

Yeah, that was awesome too. I sometimes wasted all my ammo on the soldiers who just kept coming down the shaft from the helicopter, just because it was so much fun.

Wasting soldiers was always a laugh... just like killing scientists with trip mines.... Ah the good old days...

getting chased by the big blue guy in the carpark

I really liked the part where the marines started shooting through the air vent you were crawling in from below, and you suddenly see shafts of light piercing the darkness. I think that's the moment I actually said out loud, "this is the best FPS of all time."

When it all goes wrong and you go up to the lift and press the button and scientists plunge to their deaths. Also when the scene where the scientists jump out of the window, then the zombie breaks through the concrete wall and the zombie falls from the ledge above. As you make the jump to the ladders, the scientist is clinging onto the ladder with his last ounce of strength and then plunges in-style to his death.

I really liked...

Going down that train track, and seeing all the anti-Freeman graffiti, and it really felt like I was the last sane man in BMRF.

Oh, my favourite in the series was when the Gman closed the door on Shephard as you came to escape.

Yeah, the "anti-Freeman graffiti" was really cool. Made it seem way epic.

Yeah, that was really cool. Made it feel like they were really out to get you...like it was personal, lol. Really upped the atmosphere.

the part with the garg on the railroad thingies. the entire game i was playing with pistol, trying to hide and be sneaky to conserve ammo. i didnt know you could kill the garg by turning on the power thing, so i actually killed him the first time with weapons. pretty neat but i was like "whoa i only have 2 bullets left"

Umm, when did that happen?

I'm pretty sure its in "Surface Tension." They shoot through the vent and you drop down into a garage type area with a jeep on a lift.

Surface Tension is the coolest level in any game i've ever played. (then that level with the hotel in Mafia)

That was awesome, still is awesome to play through it again. The marines and special forces were, easily, the best part of the Half-Life series.

That was awesome. I also liked the bit where Barney gets dragged through a vent by a zombie when you first meet the marines. I loved twisting my way through those laser-beams so the turrets don't kill you.
