Your first game ever

Ohhh i just remembered . Mine was a Nintendo Game boy that my dad found in a bus.It had Super Mario Six golden coins....

Haha we played that at school. Was awesome.

Yeah, we played it at my school, too. And Oregon Trail. I can't remember the very first game I played, but some of them were: Commander Keen, Raptor: Call of the Shadows, Flashback, Prince of Persia, Monster Bash, and Duke Nukem.

On reflection my favourite early game was the Zoombinis. That was an amazing game.

I still love Zoombinis!!! Unfortunately it won't install on my computer now (which is annoying) but if I could still play it I certainly would! I've never finished building Zoombinton so I'd love to try a get it completely built.

First DOS game was probably Space Invaders. First proper Windows game would have been SimCity 2000, "You cannot cut back on funding you will regret this".

The Arcade version of Double Dragon back in the late 80's.
As far as i remember anyway.

My parents bought me an Intellivision when it was released in 1980. The first game I ever played for it was Tennis I think. Advanced Dungeons and Dragons was the best game for the system and the one I spent the most time playing.

AD&D for the Intellivision was quite fascinating. Do you remember the audio ticks for arrows counting? :)

Heck ya....

tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick, tick = 8 arrows left.

The worst was when you had a lot, that thing would tick forever and you'd still have no idea how many you had left.

What a game, it had gameplay lightyears ahead of it's time. I remember as a kid my dad would steer the guy around with one controller and I'd do all the shooting with the other. Used to piss my dad off something fierce when I'd shoot down a blind alley and end up killing us via ricochet.

The noises from the beasts in unexplored areas used to freak me out. I loved it. Wow, time to dust off the ol' Intellivision.

Sonic the Hedgehog 2 on my Cousin's Sega Megadrive. He gave me that Sega a few months later.
This was when I was like 2-3 years old.

I've still got it. ^^

Bit battered but its still super fun. It crashes if you tap the Cartridge just slightly.

I remember when I got my first Sega + Sonic 2. Best days of my life. Then my step mom pawned it for meth money while she stole my dads Social/credit cards and gave them to drug dealers for MORE drugs.

Yeah, life was great.

Poor Pitzy.
My first PC game was like Oregon Trail or something. First game ever? I think Super Mario Bros. My first multiplayer game online was Starcraft... oh the memories.

the first two wolfenstein games (castle wolfenstein, beyond castle wolfenstein) were so much damned fun. it used to scare the shit out of me when an SS trooper would march into the room, yelling "SS!" in a 1982 digitized computer voice.

Original Asteroids Coin-Op machine when i was 4. I had to use a bucket to stand on and even then my chin on just reached up to the shelf part with the joystick on it.

My first home gaming experience was Horance goes skiing on the spectrum!!! Video link of the game here!!

I'd imagine so. In any voice for that matter, but especially in a 1982 digitized computer voice.

that might become my new signature

Damn you Samon. You make make me feel old with my, "first console: NES/Super Mario Bros." havin' ass self. Enjoy high school while you still can. :p
Before you know it reality's gonna slap you in the face like a wet fish. (Oh noes! Now I have to work for a living! :O) You'll be too busy to worry about trivial things like gaming. I've been lucky so far tbh. My work/school allowed for some leisure time every now and then.

WTF Samon, are you 13? D:
He said before he is 18. Somehow that just doesn't add up though. Maybe he didn't start the gaming scene until a later age? :|

If he is anything like most of us, meaning picking up a controller at no later than the age of four, then his first game would've been in the SNES/Genesis era or so.

EDIT> On second though, I guess the PSone era really would be about right if he was born in the early 90's.
The SNES and Genesis was still around and probably alot cheaper at the time with the rise of the PSone and Saturn, which means he must've been a spoiled brat then. :dozey:
I wouldn't have bought my kid a *then* expensive PSone fs.

I actually didn't pick up a controller until about a year after playing DOS games back in the year of 1994.
My first console game was Paper Boy on the NES and then Super Mario All Stars on the SNES.

Ah, the good ole days.

I didn't start playing games until I was about 6/7. And I started with the PS1. And Crash Bandicoot. And since that didn't come out until 1996, it isn't that hard to believe.

which means he must've been a spoiled brat then. :dozey:

Correct!

Not my first games but when the PS1 came out,

I picked up Crash Bandicoot, Street Fighter Alpha, Resident Evil, and a PS1 on a credit card.

I didn't get the memory card, because I wanted to get another game instead - think it was Crash Bandicoot

that's how I got so good at RE. Die, and you start all the way over and have to listen to that bad voice acting

Goldeneye and Super Mario 64.

Good times.

My first game was Super Mario in the Famicom. My first PC game was Network Q RAC Rally Championship in 1997.

Ah Crash was my first PS1 game :)

or was it tekken 2? I can't remember o_O

Resident Evil 2 was my first PS1 game and I didn't get a memory card either. I had a huge fit trying to convince my parents I 'needed it' cause I kept dying to dogs, they didn't want to pay the extra money. I got in sort of late on the PS1 era, was a die-hard N64 fangirl for some reason prior. I was convinced Zelda: OoT changed lives and Jet Force Gemini (and Goldeneye and Perfect Dark) were the second coming of Christ.

First game ever... probably Duck Hunt. First game I actually cared about was Street Fighter 2--used to host neighborhood games at my house when I was like 10-11 with about six other kids. Prizes were freeze pops, of all things. I could pretty much kill anyone as Chun-li or Ken.

Christmas '93 - got a SNES together with this.
