Your first Special Forces kit

Just got my first special forces kit.. I picked Sniper class and kicking my self for it right now..

Anti-Tank ftw. If you're handy at evading infantry at long range (or shooting them with the SRAW, which isn't reccomended ) then you can take on anything in Battlefield 2, aside from jet fighters / bombers, which don't target infantry anyway.

Medic ftw. I don't have it yet, but that's what I'm going to pick. I got the chance to play on a server with all of them unlocked in the demo, so I've tried them all out.

hey, at what rank do you have to be to unlock a weapon?

Lance corporal earns you your first unlock

everyone starts as a Private
then you earn private 1st class
then lance corporal (earning you an unlock)


as for using them, so far all servers I have tried allow me to use it.

I think I'll probably get the Sniper kit because I'm not very fond of the semi-auto sniper rifles used by China and the MEC. I'm not bad with them but I don't like taking three shots with a sniper rifle to kill someone. Other than that, I don't mind using any of the other weapons.

I'll get Medic since it's what I spend 80% of the game playing (Unless I'm playing w/ hl2.net guys) I just got PFC so it's going to take me awhile.

All the sniper rifles to me take 3 shots to kill :s.

I was really skeptical on what to pick but I went with the L85 cause I play medic the most and it paid off, its accuracy is awesome glad I went with it. Next I am thinking the G3 since its such a badass gun and im not a big grenade launcher fan.

What are you talking about? The support gun is probably the most potent killing machine if you're at least a little elevated!

I would pick Spec Ops cause thats what I usually play as. But I seriously have just as much fun and own just as much with engineer. I have always liked shotguns...and I love the engineer shotgun and I seriously kick some massive ass with it. I love that I can do most of what I could with Spec Ops but with a fun gun...that being the shotgun. I still pick Spec Ops more.

In F.E.A.R. when Im just bored of owning...I just pick shotgun...as much as a suck with it (which I dont in BF2) its just so much more fun and satisfying.

I got the assault weapon. I love the G3 and get the top score on my team almost every time and often have the best K in the game. It is a very powerfull weapon!

I got that with my unlock, it's more powerful but MUCH more innacurate.
I use it on ranked servers, just because I can... and I love the firing sound

the engineer's shotgun is a brilliant weapon (easy to kill with) and the jackhammer unlock is godly.

Who needs the grenade launcher when you have grenades? If your able to shoot a guy with the launcher you can just as easily shoot him with the G3. It is very accurate and kills in 2 or 3 hits. Also...grenades can bounce, so you can toss them into bunkers, or near flags. The only downside is you lose the ability to take out the lightest vehicles, but you don't need to worry about that when your in a squad.

Holy shit thats a good question. I was hopping you would be able to kill people or support as support gunner...but I have never killed anyone even at close range with it (or with iron sights) nor have I even been killed by it. I once had a pistol and the other guy had the M249 and I killed him...its a weak pathetic useless gun.

Guys I picked Sniper as my special forces (even tho I hardley ever play it..) and it was such a mistake.. the sniper rifle sucks so bad. It's terribly inaccurate compared to the M24, and its really not that strong. Actually shooting someone through glass shield TWICE in a row just isn't gonna happen.

I have no idea what you're all talking about. Special Forces? I'm still a private for some reason, despite many many kills.

But... on the topic of grenade launcher. The one in the default assault class, I love it! Its just a damn great killing machine, and I love getting long distance kills with it, which I regularly do at times(othertimes I cant hit the broad side of a barn)

shotguns are awesome close range. use your pistol and grenades for distance kills.

Assault is a completely different class without the grenade launcher. With the G3, Assault is pretty much strictly infantry only. With the grenade launcher I've taken out helicopters, jeeps, and sometimes even APCs. It's also very useful for getting rid of snipers and clumps of infantry with a minimum of fuss.

The G3 is a much better anti-infantry weapon. Coupled with grenades you are able to assault positions very well. Granted you no longer have the n00b cannon, but grenades can be more powerful when used correctly.

If you want anti-vehicle ability...go anti-tank.

I think the Medic gun looks coolest(loved that weapon in Raven Shield) but i rarely play with Medic so i will probably go for the support kit. Support owns everything, you who said it sucks must be crazy...

It might take long depending on how you do, it comes with Lance Corporal.

The new weapons are nothing special, M16 is still my favorite weapon.

Oh, by the way... I picked the M95 (sniper) and I'm loving it. In the first game I played with it I went 13/0 without running out of ammo. I also sniped someone out of a helicopter.

Im at 850 pts and still didnt know what to pick so i cheated and found an empty server that had all weapons unlocked and tested em out and i like the L85 the best. The sniper made me almost change my mind but i never play sniper and when i do i suck horribly so im not pickin that. Ill probably go medic.

if you wanna see em before you pick search "unlock" in the server browser and make sure your not filtering only ranked servers and you should find a bunch that say "unlocks for everyone" or something of the sort in the title. The game might be empty but you can still go in and shoot em at cars and stuff.
