Your Half-life 2 Gamespot score prediction

Sound is really hard to objectively review, so I think it tends to get a sort of 'average of the rest' kind of score. I can't remember any reviews where a game got slated for everything else but had great sound, or vice-versa.

On the score ... we don't know that HL2 is going to be any good at all. I really hope it is, but there are loads of games that looked impossibly great until the real thing/demo appeared. There's less known about HL2 then there is about FarCry, for example, and that's not out for ages yet.

Good review Spiffae, hope you're right :)

My calculations lead me to predict that Half-Life 2 will receive a score of no less than 3pi+0.53 (approximately 9.9547779607693797153879301498385).

I am not at liberty to divulge the formula used to calculate said score. It is an industry secret known only by the top game developers, like Valve, and is the key to their success.

I can only hope that the hacker didn't get his hands on the formula... or there could be a wave of so many "perfect 10" games that it would cut Valve's profits to nearly nothing.

I think it will get a VERY high score..if it's the same kind as halflife1..a true movie/adventure :)

hehe yeah that formula is known only by game devs and you.

Well, I dont know what sort of score GS would give, dont normally go there, but i probably wouldnt give it a score anywhere over 9.0 unless everything (excluding sound) rises in calibre compared to what I've seen.

They have a great game, but this fiasco with ts release means I wouldnt score them excellently. Just thinking of it makes me feel quite irrate.

GRRRRRR!!!!!:flame:

Well that's ridiculous. As a reviewer, one rates a game on its relative merits and NOT on external factors like release date problems.
When it's released you'll all forget how bitter you were because it will be a good game. Besides, your bitterness is somewhat unwarranted. Get up on your high-horse if you wish, but you've got little justification to. They weren't entirely honest but for God's sake just lay off. They've had problems and rather than support them you decide to attack them. Great, well done.
Just thinking of that makes me feel quite irate.
