You'r IQ?

Considering that a study done in 1952 of the IQs of the 64 most predominant scientists in the US showed an average IQ of 152, a low IQ of 121, and a high IQ of 194, I have serious doubts of most of the IQ posts in this topic.

Those web sites are just trying to butter you up so you will buy their "full intelligence report". If the site told you that your IQ was 94 you wouldn't be to happy now would you?

Me neither actually. That is just the consistent average from every internet IQ test I've taken, which are probably worthless.
(But none of them were "pay us for more details" scams.)
I just like to bandy the number around to makes me looky smert!

But, then again, I've had straight A's since grade 5. So who knows? :p

Edit: And, like Letters, I've also been in IB classes for the last 4 years or so

You can get strait As with a IQ of 87. What matters much more than your IQ is being able to just sit down and work.

It takes me 4 hours to start studying. The only reason I'm in college is because I'm a very effective manipulator. Which is another skill more important than your IQ.

The average is a score of 100. IQ's follow a strict bell curve. Which means half of the population is above a score of 100, and half the population has a score below 100.

It takes me 4 hours to start studying. The only reason I'm in college is because I'm a very effective manipulator. Which is another skill more important than your IQ.

I've been trying to start preparing for a presentation (that is tommorow no less) for the past 12 hours.
 
You mean half the test takers. Thats just like saying all these newspaper/ magazine pres. polls matter.

Haha, I'm done with Calculus.

What's funny is that doing math in a textbook is easy, applying it to a real world scenario is really, really frickin hard. I thought statistics was easy when I took it my junior year of college. I was wrong. :|
 
Ahh I remember my calc class from high school. Never had to take math in college though. :p

All very logical.

I took some IQ test on the net here awhile back.

Result: 159.

Then again these online tests are highly inaccurate.

and this is exactly what scares me about humans.

my IQ eh, i've bullshitted internet IQ tests before and gotten 179. not sure which website that was. other sites have IQ limits which ... yeah that's REALLY stupid, because that doesn't show anything. it's more like "oh i wonder what this site has as their limit." stupid things.

most book IQ tests that i do for shits and giggles while i'm watching tv put me at 165.

none of these are accurate though. you really gotta be timed on these things. so, tests administered by psychiatrists should be the only ones taken seriously.

lol yeah if someone has a 200 IQ... i think that's about 4 standard deviations above normal. my friend has a 181 (psychiatrist tested...) which is 3 deviations above normal ... and frankly, he's kinda stupid.

although merc, i DOUBT you've got 200 IQ :p

edit: okay i shouldn't call my friend stupid... i should say that I FIND HIM TO BE ... NOT SO INTELLIGENT. all his other friends though... they think he's some kinda smarty super genius hahaha...
 
Anyone will an IQ below 120 needs to be lauched into the sun, it'd do alot of good i'm telling you.

Theres a difference between being smart and useing logic, good thinking (Thats what your IQ is). But alot of people think the higher the IQ is the smarter you are. Nope.. just higher IQ peeps can learn stuff alot more easyer so could be smart.

On topic, my IQ is most likely about 5 or 6. I have no idea.

well its' not just that either. it's also memorization(how many bits of info can you hold in a short time... like, memorizing long strings of numbers... which is something the psychiatrist will do... most people can only do... uhh... was it 3-5 or 5-7 if told to repeat a number... ). IQ also deals with processing speed, not just the logic stuff.
 
When i was 18 i had it tested at this eeeehm special school erhm.. they said 128.

No it doesn't. I wonder if you read the thread, considering we concluded IQ does not measure your intelligence, but it measures your potential intelligence. So a typo wouldn't matter in this case. After all, it's just a typo :rolling:
 
When I took a 2 hour IQ test at my mothers job earlier this year I got a score of 136 but she said that the IQ might increase a lil bit from where I am now to where I am an adult so here's hoping heh.

I never bother with internet IQ tests since I've found'em to be quite a bit inaccurate lol, one gave me 97 and another one gave me 142, comeon.-_-
