Your official thoughts on NO multiplayer?(no troll/flame)

Counter-strike source is the multiplayer component of it.

Some people complain yea, but I mean, how often to do you play HLDM?

i believe that no multiplayer is absolute bs based on this.

If Counter-Strike source was to be the Half-Life 2 component for multiplayer then it would not be getting released tomorrow. This i feel is because obvioulsy VU would have rights like it does over HL2 so it would ship with it. Valve stated they would not talk about their multiplayer component because they wanted it to be secret. They have not mentioned i believe that Counter-Stike source is the multiplayer but have just released it to draw the Cs community who would not buy Hl2 otherwise.

To the mag reviews, maybe the people who reviewed the game played a non rc complete version. In saying this they had no multiplayer option in order to conceal what it is they want a suprise.

Basically this is my version of what is happening because i don't believe that Valve would release HL 2 without a multiplayer of its own because there is just to much potential for a good multiplayer !!!!!

My guess is that the reason of not making a Multiplayer Game for HL2
It's becouse It won't be diffrent than The 1st game.
My guess is that Half-Life: Source is going to have an improved Multiplayer game not just based on The Same Multiplayer maps and the new source engine but also more weapons and stuff from HL2, so there is no reason to create another multiplayer game for HL2. it's just awaste.

well this whole not having multiplayer thing will make me get the game for free instead of paying valve.

And yes i know it has CS:S, but if you like counterstrike, you have problems.

I think I'm more surprised than angry at no true MP.

Although, since I'm not a fan of CS, the lack of a true MP really limits me to SP and mods when they start arriving.

I think it was a great risk for Valve to have no MP because the people like me (who hate CS) may lose interest in HL2 once the SP aspect is finished....and once it's finished all I can do is wait for mods.

jesus stop knocking cs. its what every mod today is trying to recreate in other games and failing. cod, ut2k4, and other top games all have mods that have ct vs t. CS:S is a wonderful enhancement and it plays so much better than normal cs.

but dont get me wrong. im totally with you guys. i want hl2dm. i want some kind of hl2 mp. it just seems so....cruel of valve not to include a mp. theyre not THAT stupid, are they?
