Your PC's Temperature

Hey everyone,

I was wondering, how hot do your PC's run at? I have a 2.8 Pentium 4, with an ATI All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro, and the normal running temp inside the case is probably about 95 degress Fahrenheit, processor at about 100. During intense gaming/processing, i'll see processor temps near 120, and system temps at 105 maximum. This is with 3 intake fans, and 2 outtake. (I think some fans may need replacing). Do these temps sound normal (i know they won't harm my components [i have software to make sure that doesn't happen], but they still are pretty hot). What are your temperatures with your PC? Thanks!

Dunno, because I don't want to convert all that into Celsius. My proc. idles around 32 C and reaches about 45 C under load. My case temps are always between 28-32 C.

Hmmm, my case tempurate is normally about 25/26 degrees and my CPU temperature changes constantly. When I am idle and doing nothing its standard 27/30 degrees, when I play games it normally comes out at about 34/38 and also every now and then it feels like going high to about 40/44 degrees proberly every week just because it wants too :p I normally just open my window and get some fresh air in my room and it goes back down.

I have a 3.4ghz AMD 64 clocked at 3087mhz

My fan runs at only 1900rpm as well :D

here is a picture: http://members.lycos.co.uk/st4tic/My_Computer.jpg

My graphics card is a different story. Basiclly... if I toach it, then it burns me.... its always crashing and its a peace of shit. I was stupid enough to buy products from power colour :p which is a very very bad no no. They suck beyond recognition. Even the mox was cheap that it came in, ow and btw I have a Radeon 9700 pro. I got i9t for 300pound when it first came out. I thought I would get the Power Colour version because it was 10pound cheaper. Man was I the stupid one :p

Ow, ye I don't know the temp of my gfx, but how high does it have to be to burn human skin ? lol. I really should buy a new one but I have no money atm. I just spent like 500pound on home entertainment lol.

my cpu rarely gets above 105f, ram never gets above 100f, gpu is usually @ 65c in games

My CPU right now is 41C (106F) and my case is around 28C (82F).
My ATI 9800pro's heatsink is bearly even warm. I don't have a sensor measuring that but I touched the heatsink.

When this room gets hot in the summer my temps will rise about 10C (20F).
btw this is basicly idle.
Load is even hotter in the hot summer. ;)

Edit: I've been running Prime95 on torture test for max heat/power consumption for a while now and I'm holding at 46C/29C.

why are ur temps so high?

i think i may need to check out my fans...after playing a few videos (and having my computer on for the past day (but not really running any games)), my temps are now at 37 CPU and 35 case..pretty much the same. Maybe i should check out my case fans.

Edit: My system fans that i have hooked up to be monitored show speeds of about 1500 RPM's. Is that too slow?

Load temp - 50C
Idle temp - 46C

Mind you I live in the middle of a desert...
It should fall lower when I get my new fan/heatsink and case in 4 days. ;) (unless I overclock  )

Right now its 38/39 C, After I'm done playing a game it's about 43/44.

Jesus mine is just the opposite, the heatsink on my card burns when I touch it. My CPU heatsink however (Zalman CNPS7000) is just warm to the touch, in contrast to the scolding stock heatsink.

My Radeon 9800 gets very hot, especially when playing FarCry. My Mobo, box etc however remain around 85.

I choose my cooling setup originally to withstand my hot room temps in the summer. Not to have low low idle temps. lol
AXP's don't have low idle temps anyway.
Notice my temp is only 5C higher comparing Load to Idle CPU temps.
My ATI 9800 heatsink is cool because of my case cooling from the 2 front fans and the fact that it is at idle. hehe
ahhh I love my Kingwin case.

I go through a few runs of 3Dmark2003 for the GFX card and see how hot the 9800 gets with the stock cooler.

:O Since it is the hot seasons, my 2.8C idles @ 35 C and my board idles @ 33 C. At full load my CPU goes to 50 C, never higher and board temp @ full load 38 C.

my case always stays low around 30C and my cpu idles at 36
maxes out at about 49
however i just applied new thermal compound.. so it takes time to reach its full potential
anything under 50 is reasonable and should be stable(cpu)

while browsing forum/web pages im at 39c, maxes out about 44c in games.

this is on a mobile athlon xp 2400+ 1.8ghz clocked at 2.5ghz at 1.9 volts.

thermalright sp-97 + a 92mm vantec tornado + arctic silver 5 = some of the best air cooling available. i highly recommend this combo if you want great temps but loud noise. luckily my PC is in my closet with the door closed so its nice and quiet in here.

Idle 45-49c
Load 50-52c

;(

edit: oh my cpu, 2400xp

Hmm... so far I have like one of the best CPU's here but yet its one of the coolest. You lot need to sort out your cooling :D ow... except for my gfx card. Thats just ****ed.... lol.

???

Mine idles at around 47C, goes up to around 54C at load. The tradeoff is that it's nearly silent. Honestly, some people choose to stay at safe temperatures with near-silent cooling rather than use 50dB fans to get their temps to unecessarily low levels so they can...er... What exactly does that help to do, anyway? Running at even high 50's is perfectly safe for an Athlon XP CPU, don't feel bad about it.

Also, Ichi, as opposed to someone like me (XP 2400+), your CPU has a heat spreader. That could be part of the reason why it runs so much cooler.

Mine idles at about 55/56 and its about 60/61 after being under heavy load. I got a AMD Athlon XP 3200+. Anyone got any ideas on how I could cool it further. Me and blahblahblah have been in deep discussion about this but nothing seems to be working well.

A64's are very very cool. A64's run cooler than AXP and P4's no doubt.

But check these out.
.25 Watts at 400MHz...wow.

Mine isn't that bad, Idle 43-46c, Load 50-52c. 2600+ OC'd to about 2.1ghz.

I know the main reason why it is indeed hot, its sitting under my desk next to another HOT 2200+ pc, and theres is really no ventilation for the the intake fan on the back, SO I am getting 2 80mm fans on the side to fix that, and one rear exhaust. Lets see how hot it gets then :-P when actual cool air gets to it ;)

invest in a good heatsink/fan and buy some arctic silver 5 thermal paste
make sure the heatsink is copper
insure that your case is being cooled properly too

I just noticed, my cpu is clocked at 2087mhz, isn;t that a little low for a 3.2? what does everyone else have theres set at?
