Your thoughts on the Presidential Debate.

I came to the debates unbiased, as I'm really 50/50 on who I want to vote for.

Overall, McCain is stronger when it comes to national security - defense, foreign policy. He seems better situated to resolve Iraq.

While Obama seems stronger when it comes to the economy, rebuilding our infrastructure, alternative fuels, and energy overall.

I'd say McCain did well on this debate overall and to me, I think defense and a resolution in Iraq and Afghanistan takes center-stage over energy and infrastructure.

I reckon the next president is going to only 1 term either way, we'll see what happens.

To me McCain seems more likely to get us involved in North Korea, Iran, and other places. He seemed pretty unabashed when he was certain there would be more wars and that we would fight them... without any hint of diplomacy.

McCain is not of the diplomatic school of thought.

I reckon those from the school of Bush/McCain are likely to never give enough of a shit about our daily lives and intend to never do so until every hint of baddies are ridden from the planet. Obviously nuts like Bin Laden and such can't just be allowed to roam free, but you can take the responsibility of it all on one country, there's NATO and others who aren't bum rushing into an 'insurgent extinction' method. And if you do want to go killing them all, how about after you have reasonably sized resources to do it (hah)?
Here's an impractical and partially satisfying solution

Woohoo giant swimming pool!

reducing iraq to a smoking crater hasnt gotten rid of the terr'ists if anything it's given them ample targets to commit acts of terror on ..so from a handful of terr'rists bent on killing america to whole populations thirsting for american blood ..real effective strategy you have there

So... history channel running a marathon on Alaska themed shows... Tougher in Alaska, Alaska: Dangerous Territory... Alaska's Bermuda Triangle... etc...

Coincidence? Or intentional? What do you think?

The history channel knows you're the only one who watches it so their trying to appeal to you by running shows about your home state, Raz.

It's not my home state. I just lived quite a few years there.

Palin is from Alaska... that's why I brought it up... getting people pumped for Alaska before her debate in just a couple days.

I hope she won't be too obvious with the "vote for me or I send Panserbjorn to destroy your town" card.

i like how this thread is going to segway into thursdays debate. In any event, PALIN CAN SEE TEH RUSSIANS!!!!!111

Well I'm thinkin most of'm will be too dead to do anything. Obviously not all of them. Would have to pick'm off since they're probably widespread.

the one last week sucked balls it wasn't a debate theyr jerking each other off.

Man, the Vice Presidential debate is tomorrow!

I can't wait! I'm pumped!

I live for tomorrow! There's nothing else I want to do at all tomorrow but watch that debate.

I want to see Palin speak and keep speaking and never stop speaking, because every second she speaks she shows how much of a, and I quote Bill Maher here, bimbo she is.

but its when a country full of bimbos who don't even know or care what she's talking about are allowed to vote. USA should be embarrased for even presenting such a person for such a position.

This tbh. Dan Quayle is remembered as a moron who couldn't spell 'potato', but everyone selectively forgets that his ticket got elected in the end. What's frightening is that Palin could give a response that makes her sound like George Bush's retarded younger sister, but millions would still vote for her because 'she's one of us!!!!1'.... or 'i love what she stands for!!!!!!!! ....no, I don't know what she stands for, lol, but I LOVEITILOVEHER!!!!'

They should have some sort of "basic political/world position awareness test" application to vote.

agreed ..people need to read this

"Andrew, I watch you at these debates with no notes, no papers, and yet when asked questions, you spout off facts, figures, and policies, and I'm amazed. But then I look out into the audience and I ask myself, 'Does any of this really matter?' " Palin said.

hey they voted for stupid twice in a row, I dont think it's a stretch they'd vote in stupid again

http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/americas/09/29/zakaria.sarah.palin/index.html#cnnSTCVideo

Fareed Zakaria is a pretty astute guy, and it's alarming how harshly he slamed Palin. I must admit I hadn't realised that the Saturday night live skit actually used some of her answers to Katie Couric.

Katie Couric: Why isn't it better, Gov. Palin, to spend $700 billion helping middle-class families who are struggling with health care, housing, gas and groceries; allow them to spend more and put more money into the economy instead of helping these big financial institutions that played a role in creating this mess?

Gov. Sarah Palin: That's why I say I, like every American I'm speaking with, we're ill about this position that we have been put in where it is the taxpayers looking to bail out. But ultimately, what the bailout does is help those who are concerned about the health-care reform that is needed to help shore up our economy, helping the -- it's got to be all about job creation, too, shoring up our economy and putting it back on the right track. So health-care reform and reducing taxes and reining in spending has got to accompany tax reductions and tax relief for Americans. And trade, we've got to see trade as opportunity, not as a competitive, scary thing. But one in five jobs being created in the trade sector today, we've got to look at that as more opportunity. All those things under the umbrella of job creation. This bailout is a part of that.

utter utter gibberish..what was McCain thinking? :|

I hope Obama has a secret plan to fight inflation.

Anyone know of a website/stream where I could watch the VP debate later?

I heard the McCain Campaign altered the debate so the time to answer questions is shorter. And in turn lessens the time for Biden and Palin to interact directly.
