Damn it, I checked like ten minutes ago and it wasn't up.

He hates it YES!!!
:D
*enter anti nintendo fanboy mode*

Can't wait to get home and see this one. I'm not surprised he'd hate it though - but SSB is one Nintendo amalgamated franchise that I love to bits. Even with the shameless PAL delay for it.

Damn. You guys are quick. :E

Awsome review. Was not sure if he would like it or not. Guess I know now.

An alright review, he's done funnier ones. Like last week's.

Note: I'm neutral on the subject of SSBB/Nintendo.

Wow, he said what i was thinking.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!

not that id ever buy a wii, but id like to play this...i somewhat liked the last one

Wow, bitter much?

And all the better for it, mind you. :D

Really awesome!
I agree that game is repetitive D:

Gametraders Robina lol.

wow fantastic review, very funny.

Not surprised he didn't like it, but funny nonetheless.

Yahtzee can just go crawl in a hole and die, tbh.

LOL, wow, he really didn't want to have to review this. And so settled for trying to pick a fight with the Nintendo-loving half of the net! Ace.

This says a lot about personal taste when it comes to games though - not every fan of games is going to like every good game, which I'm sure SSBB is.

SSBM is blatantly a very good game - he simply spent a single drunken evening button mashing looking for material to make a vid.

I thought that was some of his best patter yet. Good review, if a bit blinkered. He makes a good point with the "Nintendo" and "Wii" and "Internet Forum" part.

*does the happy dance over this review*

Haha, that was a good one, and I really like SSBB.
Especially like the Marth bit.

Really, who the **** is Marth? I never actually bothered to ask this question until now after Yahtzee asked the same question.

You might as well unlock Bill Murray
Genius.

I loved the first SSB, but after that, they all felt samey to me. I DO play a lot of Soul Caliber and Capcom Vs SNK games...*shrug*

I only played the SSB on the gamecube, dont really have a desire to play any others.

Admittedly I thought it was strange that he put soul calibur III in the group button masher games as when I played it, the AI was so cheap and the game so broken that you couldn't win by button mashing

Yahtzee can just go crawl in a hole and die, tbh.

Fanboy.

I think we've already established that Yahtzee is capable of giving positive reviews to games he enjoys. He just didn't enjoy SSBB.

While I don't think it's a bad game ... he was pretty much right. I've definitely disagreed with him before and he's far from infallible, but this one was pretty funny and happens to coincide with my opinion. Though I enjoyed it a little bit more than he did, still overrated though.

Funny review, I agreed with him on some thing but I thought the game was better than that (Granted, I only play it when a bunch of me mates are around).

He gave it a poorer review than it deserved. His points had some merit. I enjoy Brawl quite a bit. It was funny. I talk like this in real life.

That was by far my least favorite Zero Punctuation review. There was literally no intelligent commentary on the game. Usually even if you do like what he hates, you can at least agree with most of his points. This was just a bitter diatribe.

ITT: The Nintendo fanboys bash ZP for doing what they previously admired him for.

He explained why he hated the game in clear terms - the cool characters are locked until you play the dull singleplayer game for hours, the camera isn't good enough, and at it's core its a button-mashing game with a fresh coat of paint. Also, many of the characters aren't unique enough and end up looking like advertisements for other games.

If you like fighting games, you might like SSBB. Yahtzee clearly doesn't.

I happen to think Brawl is overrated too, but that doesn't change the fact that it was a crappy review. I'm sorry, but there was zero intelligent commentary. Intelligent commentary. "Just another button masher" isn't intelligent commentary, it's just wrong. Fact is, I didn't laugh, and it wasn't because my feelings were hurt.

In contrast, his Burnout Paradise review was scathing in parts, and that's one of my favorite games this year. But I could agree and laugh at what he had to say.

Meh, probably just me.

I laughed and still disagreed with most of the review. The stuff about 'that guy' was excellent.

At the end of the day - who really cares if he doesn't like a game after one evenings button mashing? It's hardly telling evidence (which can be said for nearly all his 'reviews'). He could have said the same thing about Power Stone, or Bomberman or Mario Kart - and probably would have - and it wouldn't have mattered as long as it was funny. I still think he's a bit of a nub, though.

Oh wow, just finished it. What an awful review.

Bleh.

He didn't want to review it. The whole thing was obviously a cover for him to rant on the rabid fanboys infesting his mailbox every week, since he'd already made his mind up about the game long before they even started their whinging. He doesn't like multiplayer games. He doesn't like fighting games. He doesn't like Nintendo. Of course it's not going to be a well-thought out, unbiased review. Besides which, intelligent commentary requires interesting or innovative subject matter - no offense, but SSBB it aint. It's as basic and polished as they come, for comedy purposes it's like getting blood from a (very shiny) stone.
