Hi, i've download zhlt a week ago, and everything was going perfect. But today, i don't know the reason, an error is appearing. My error is this:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
hlvis: Error: Portal file 'sa_sky.prt' does not exist, cannot vis the map
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Believe me, i've been googling a LOT and i've got no answer, so i'm asking you what's going on. I know it's a compiler error, but why? After a lot of time spent on searching, i decided to download the latest version of ZHLT, the same error occuring. Please give me an answer or link another compiler. Thanks a lot. ;) :bounce:

check your bsp compile log, it may have failed at that point and therefore not had the suficient files to run VIS

Creds to you for googling things first...
Creds to me for being an old time mapper and knowing the ole hideouts that dont show up using google. =)

Bookmark this one:

http://www.slackiller.com/tommy14/errors.htm#portalfile (except the #portalfile bit)

It contains pretty much all the errors you'll ever encounter with the old (1.6/ZHLT) tools. It looks like hell, but it has all the cures..

Unfortunatley yours is one of the bad ones... Follow the links..

EDIT: By one of the bad ones, I mean "one that has a cure that works every time". From toom14's page (see above) you can find this (amongst other things that fit your error)

"Another odd problem that shows up elsewhere is the bad sky enviornment name. For most of us a bad sky enviornment name leaves us with the default enviornment. But for some mappers, this can cause odd error warnings: like a bad brush that does not exist, or brush outside of map, or bad lighting in the map. Make sure you get that name RIGHT! If the six sides are sky_lf, sky_rt, sky_up, etc. you use "sky_" in the cl_skyname field."

Happy mapping!
