Cheers to Pi for the brilliant mapping work and the heads up about the video.

Nice, but it would have been nice to have the fasties in.

If it only let you shoot parts off the zombies it would be truly kickass, now its "just" kickass. Give please!

Everything has a reason when it gets to Pi

They were all shamblies, except for one Hulk in the car park area. I was trying to give myself some chance :)

My wife was performing ZM duties for the purpose of recording this video.

Still is one sweet video...

It's true, I got my arse kicked on my own map. I barely made it halfway through (that ladder is needed to progress further)

Wow, that's the new map I presume, I haven't even played it yet :( Looks awesome, but definitely in need of co-op action, especially to get that ladder.

The zombies look good from what I can see.

Why don't you use more displacements on the ground? The surfaces look very flat. There is also a lot of sharp corners. (stairs, buildings, pavements) Try to round them off. If you avoided things like that for performance then ignore that last sentence. Please don't retaliate, these are only my critiques. I think your map has a nice design and atmosphere.

Some of the HL2 hud sounds are still in there, I don't know if you are going to replace them.

Are you making new models for the weapons? It's a bit hard to make it out in the dark.

Looks like fun, just some minor gripes about some of the animations and amount of hl2 content but other than that it looks really good, nice work :)

edit* I forgot to ask, whats to prevent someone from just running to the objectives, it seems the zombies are so slow and dont react really fast when you run past them. Are there checkpoints/doors which do not open up for a certain amount of time or how do you prevent the human players from just running thru everything?

Gameplay first, graphics come later. Some stuff is still from HL2, but there's already a signifigant amount made in-house so to say. All is done to speed up release, would you want to wait one more year so that all traces of HL2 could be erased? I think not.

The objectives are designed so that you can't just run to them (plus the Zombie Master is supposed to be preventing you), mainly through time-delay objectives and semi-random spawn locations.

Looks awesome! Good work. :)

Nice to see no "OMG the player lagz1!" in this thread, lol. :D

Stupid amounts of awesome that is, if mainly for how cool the zombies sound. Seemed a little too dark in places, mind, although my PC does make things darker sometimes. Resoloution problem or something.

So, Pi got his arse kicked, on his own map, by his wife?

Nice.

It was all for the video. I wasn't even trying. Honest.

Lies!!, I liked the end when you showed that little bit of panic when you realised you were out of ammo and tried a desperate dash for the door to no avail ;)

I think I'm going to enjoy being a zombie master

The fact that stops you is the Zombie Master who spawns zombies at whim, also there are other kinds of zombies like fasties and whatnot. These zombies are just the most basic ones, easy to avoid in open spaces but if you get stuck somewhere without ammo... well your screwed. As Pi demostrated by bravely throwing himself at the zombies :imu:

Oh yeah that last dash for the door brings me to another point, we need melee attacks that doesn't rely on you finding a sledgehammer, either trying to kick the zombies out of the way or hitting them with the gun or something like that

That was a mistake on my part - I'd neglected to equip the humans with any melee weapons at all.

Although, in actual fact, I'd given myself an advantage by supplying myself with the three main guns and full ammo.

looks fun I love it, the zombies look like they are floating at some point (or just ice skating).

We've run into a few animation bugs that we're currently trying to fix.

Lookin good, I was going to metion the ice skating zombies but omikron beat me to it. It would be great to see some gibbing going on too!

No, but you can sit there and make "brrm brrm" noises if you like.

We're looking into gibbing, but it won't make the first release.

Go for something unorthadox...like a mallet or a rake I say ;)

We don't know the release date, so I'm damn sure that Solaris doesn't.
