What are the zombies saying when they attack you it sounds like garbled language. When they burn I think they say O god and something else I forgot. I like to watch them burn and die.:devil: They really wine like ooohhhhhhhharrraa and stuff but sometimes it sounds like talk. I hate the sound of the fast zombie oohhhhhhoooowwwwwooo every time I hear it I freak out. I once heared it in the forest area when I went to get the mail I live on a hill there is a small forest down below are drive way. Anyay I got the mail and I heard that noise it scared the crap outta me.
 
Sounds like ooooh god, noooo. HELPPPP ME! But its weird because we did sound tests on those noises and they make the same noise when played backwards, as forwards. Theres also been speculation that they are speaking norwegian/swedish/danish (one of them). So we can't be certain of what it is. There was a HUGE discussion thread on this a few years ago.
 
Yeah they do sound like they are saying that. I'm not to sure though.
 
I remember is sounded to me like they said "Why me" if on fire.

the norwegian, swedish, Danish thing was debunked by someone within Valve who explained that was screams played backwards(in English/American)

though it really does sound like Danish when they're on fire "det brænder! Hjælp Mig!"("it burns! Help Me") I did a double take first time I heard it...
 
When on fire they scream "Oh god help, help me!" played backwards.
 
I exported the sound files and reversed them...definately stuff like "Ohh god help me" and whatnot...not much difference with the Yabba Dabba Doo part, though...
 
Download GCFscape, go to Valve/Steam/SteamApps/Source Sounds
You should be able to find them in there.
 
Is there a way I can get it of the game? My pc does not go well with downloads of anything.

I know but he says download and I can't download anything on this pc I would have to wait for my new one.
 
People always say the zombies say something backwards, but it sounds like they're saying the same thing playing forwards :/
 
Remember, they are humans that are just turning into zombies I guess, so what would you scream if you were alive and had a headcrab eating your head.

They do. Just sounds a little clearer and understandable when played backwards.

Chirst, I know you're a staffer and person who's been around for a while respectivly, but there are people like ELITE COMBINE and myself who can't do it. ELITE COMBINE, can't download things and I have the stigmata of being a Macintosh user. (I used to have a PC before I had to dump it for better work related computer) So even if I was able to play Half Life 2, (Which I can't), I wouldn't be able to utilize GCFscape, so now I can cry myself to sleep

Now ELITE COMBINE can at least play the game, I have to go to a bloody LAN cafe to do it. And I'd rather not shell out money to listen to sounds again.

So I ask nicely, can some upload/post wav. files of the zombie screams please?
To help those who can't do it themselves and to just be nice people.
 
I will be getting a new computer soon anyway so I can wait. And I can't play the game on my pc I have to play it on my console or at my freinds pc.

Does anyone know who does the zombie voice acting? Because dude, serious props to whoever it is. Still creeps me the hell out and I've played the game a million times..
 
Heh, I love the zombies and their frantic screams, especially while on fire.
It's also amusing to watch a fresh human get owned by a headcrab... one time I let the crabbie do his thing at first then capped the guy in the head after he was just about done.
It's also fun to line them up and let rip with a giant saw blade and cut them all in half, but they don't tend to scream when I do that... :(

Interesting that their voices are recorded backwards, didn't realize that... though I think it's good that they are backwards because it makes them more unintelligable and frantic sounding (and hence more fun to kill)
