No. Simply no. Half-Life is done entirly from the POV of Gordon Freeman. Everything you see and hear is what Gordon sees and hears. Plus, why the hell would Doctor Breen (Almost defenatly an American) set up in a city where no one speaks his native language? And Barney, Kleiner, Mossman and Eli for that matter.

It would explain why Gordon Freeman never says a damned word and why no-one tells him anything too significant. He hasn't a clue what they're saying, and he's the gringo who doesn't speak the lingo.

A previous discussion said that us Americans, being such die hard bastards, would vow to fight to the last, and probably did...most of the USA is more than likely destroyed and unpopulated, killed off by the Combine weapons and the Xen wildlife that teleported in...
