That's right, this weekend, all Rockstar titles on Steam are 50% off, putting most of them at dirt-cheap prices that definitely merit investigation if you don't already have them. Head over to the Steam store page for Rockstar Games and check it out! The sale ends with this weekend, so decide before Monday!

I'm still pissed that GTA4 isn't being published on Steam.

If I didn't have San Andreas or Vice City or Manhunt already, I'd probably invest.

I might actually consider the entire Rockstar pack...

Why are they charging for GTA1, 2, and Wild Arms? Those were both released as freeware by Rockstar themselves. :|

Probably because they can still convince people to pay for them.

Holy shit since when did Rockstar do Max Payne?

Rockstar published the PS2 and Xbox ports, and apparently have rights to Steam publishing as well... which is odd, because it was developed by Remedy and NOT published by Rockstar for PC iirc.

They aren't. They are free as part of the Steam package and you cannot buy them separate from the package(s) on Steam.

Correct. GOD Games took care of that.

Ah. Well as it's included in the Collection, I'm almost certainly purchasing it. ?20 for 10 games is pretty awesome if you ask me. Especially games containing the Max Payne series.

since ever.

is manhunt any good? it's the only one that I haven't tried yet and might be interested in.

Vice City is the smaller, tighter, and more polished of the two. It's about decent quantity and awesome quality vs a buttload of quantity and slightly less-awesome quality.

I like Vice City because it doesn't have that idiotic RPG system that San Andreas has and I like the story and setting better.
But, I like San Andreas because it has a bigger world and a whole lot more to do.

Combine the two and you have a winner.

I bought GTA3....not sure If I should VC though....mhm

This might have been of interest to me. Except Steam doesn't sell Rockstar games in Australia :(

I can download the trailers though! :D

man that sucks bro, have you tried setting up a proxy?
or maybe someone in the U.S could buy the game for you.

Does that actually work? Would I be able to use a proxy buy some games with my Australian dollars then install and play them okay? I might look into this.

That's what some guys from the UK on 4chan say that they do to get games that don't come out in europe,I'm talking about /v/ by the way.
my understanding is that it makes steam think you are in the U.S

I have heard that a friend can send you it as a gift.

Shouldn't we have a forum devoted to this kind of things? Announcements about requests for games not available in some countries, so that fair tradings can be arranged? (I am looking for... will buy... )

Someones bound to abuse a situation at some point. I don't think it's a good idea. I don't think we should encourage it formally.

Well, it would be a self-regulated activity, as in eBay. If someone abuses or cheats, his bad reputation would precede him. But I see your point.

I'm surprised the mods have let this discussion continue. Considering their view on the alpha/beta leaks of Half-Life 2.

Is it actually legal to 'bypass' the region lock?

What's wrong with vista and these games?
Well I'm not sure entirely, but I installed Manhunt a while back and I'm running Vista Home Premium, and some error message comes up saying it doesn't work. So I gave up!

Offering the game as a gift is perfectly legal. As for bypassing the region lock... is it possible? Don't think so.

Yep, gift can bypass region lock.
Proxy DOESN'T work with Steam.

Apparently it is possible.

Ive already got all those games except manhunt and midnight club, but I'll probably buy vice city again because I sold that one a long time ago and I kinda want to play it. Maybe I'll get the whole GTA pack even.

Because of one game?

A lot of th other ones I own already but I would maybe get for the convenience but manhunt i have never played and so thought it would be good to play but cos of vista I have a problem.
