So, I got a snes. My last one broke a couple years back and I didn't feel like getting another one immediately after. Most if not all my games were sold. Right now I have Top Gear, Zombies Ate My Neighbors and TLoZ: A Link to the Past (w/ box and manuals :D).

Anyways, looking for some retro stuff to play.

EDIT: Here's a photo.

Super Metroid, Chrono Trigger. Both excellent games.

Star Ocean

Front Mission

All 3 Donkey Kong games.

Yeah, I love SNES DK. Definitely getting those. Had SMRPG. Cant' say I enjoyed that game too much. Love SuperMetroid. Haven't played Chrono Trigger.

The title made me think it was shooter or something. Like Contra.

Alien 3
Another World
Chrono Trigger
Flashback
Harvest Moon
Jimmy Connors Pro Tour Tennis
John Madden Football 93
Ogre Battle
Prince of Persia
Secret of Mana
Secret of Mana 3
Spiderman and X-Men
Star Ocean
Super Mario All-Stars
Mario Kart
Tales of Phantasia

Thanks, guys, for all the input. I'm gonna read up on some of these games. Feel free leave more titles.

Every snes owner MUST have these 4 games

Mystical Ninja/Goemon the Warrior
Secret of Mana
Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island

Never heard of the first two.

Never heard of the first two.

They're my favourite co-op games on the snes. Secret of Mana is a 3 player action rpg (best thing Sqauresoft ever did imo) and Goemon is a 2 player rpg/platformer (I rate it higher than Zelda!) which is now on the Wii VC.

^^^

Any of those games.

But also Flashback.

Don't forget the Star Wars games, they rocked back on the SNES!

Clock Tower First Fear.

I would have beaten him to death with my Super Scope. My mum sent all my transformer videos to etheopia for some unknwon reason. 'Hey, we're starving, but at least we have transformers the movie' :/

If I was starving, I'd like to have Transformers the movie there to comfort me in my final moments. I would rather die listening to The Touch than getting the food I desperately needed to survive.

Thanks for the titles guys. I'm still reading up on some of these. Gonna be makin some purchases eventually.

...and that wiki list... I'd rather not look at it if it's just a complete list of games. I was trying to get names of games that you guys have played and thought were good.

Super Mario World, Yoshi's Island, Mario Kart, Mario All Stars are a given.

Donkey Kong is not a gibbon, but you should play his 'Country' games too.

Don't bother with the North-American Squaresoft titles, they've been ported to every other console you own and without their misleading roman numerals* and with a few less pointless edits. Don't play Super Mario RPG, out of respect for your European friends.

You know what game I loved playing on the SNES? Sim City. There was just something less straightfaced and serious about it on that system. Never got into it on the PC.

Get Kirby's Avalanche, because every 16-bit console needs a gimped version of Puyo Puyo.

Any of the Super Bomberman titles. But not too many of them.

*"Oh noes! I am playing these completely disconnected non-sequels out of chronological order!"

Yeah, I love Sim City aswell. I used to put in the money cheat and just build a hell of a town. I've had people tell me my cities were pretty creative and such and that i'd be able to make it without cheating, but cheating is good. :D

My favorite SNES games:

Super Mario World
Yoshi's Island
Final Fantasy III (Also my favorite FF)
Chrono Trigger
Super Punch-Out
Super Metroid
Star Wars
Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars: Return of the Jedi
Pilot Wings
Killer Instinct
Donkey Kong Country
Donkey Kong Country2: Diddy Kong's Quest
Donkey Kong Country3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble
Mega Man X
Mega Man X2
Mega Man X3

EDIT> All the other games in Darkside's post I didn't mention. Damn, I have too many favorite SNES games.

BTW, Star Ocean was only released for the Super Famicom (Japan). How'd you guys get a copy?

Everyone who has suggested Chrono Trigger is a genius. There's a new version out for it though on the DS. I own it and I definitely recommend it. There's only a few stupid extra stuff, but you can't beat the portable system so you can bring awesomeness where ever you go.

Thanks dudes.

So far, this is what i've taken into consideration.

Super Mario World
Sim City
Chrono Trigger (because everyone is mentioning it)
Most/all DK games
SM AllStars

I love 2-d fighters... I would get the MK series, but I already have the carts for Sega Genesis. I guess i'll also probably get a couple Street Fighter games.

Anywho, keep listing ones that you think are good. That above list is a "draft" of sorts. I'll end up getting way more than that, just because I can never stop spending money. >.<

Mystical Ninja! - you must get it.

Secret of Mana > Chrono Trigger, but then again both are great. SoM is action based combat with sweet co-op (still works great in single), Chrono is single player only and has turn based combat.

Chrono Trigger, FF3, both of which are kind of expensive. I think I paid $40 for Chrono Trigger 3 or 4 years ago.

Well, i'm not too into turn based RPGs.. sooo...

You bought a SNES...why? Why not stick an emulator on your Wii or something and play SNES games for free?

Having the real thing is always better. That's like deciding between a real Transfomer toy and a generic one. :/

So you want 2D fighters on SNES, huh?

Get SSF2T, Alpha 2, Killer Instinct, Fatal Fury Special, and Primal Rage.

I used to have all those. >.< God I wish I still had my original games. I was completely retarded for selling them... I did overprice them though. :P

Oh yeah, I need to get Samurai Showdown again.

It's a shame Shodown II never came to SNES. IMO that was the pinnacle of the series.

Since many seem to be kotaku readers, you probably already saw this, but nevermind:

Modder builds USB adapter for SNES carts

Of course, it seems a little on the pointless side, but I've always dreamed of having some kind of multi-cartridge reader to sit in the front bays of my PC, just 'because'.
