Well, from hearing everyones response to my question. 1.6 sounds as if the game play is more appealing to other people, and all I've heard so far about Source is just "I can't play 1.6 because my eyes hurt from looking at it."

you press the ~ button (top left of keyboard under the escape button DUH :eek: ) then if that doesn't not work go to OPTIONS > KEYBOARD > ADVANCED > from there you'll find two options and the consol option is turned off > turn it ON

AMEN!!!!!!!!! The graphics of the original Half Life are or should I say WERE good for its time being 6 years ago, but now are needed for a total rehaul of graphics. Sadly, Valve did not do this, kinda sucks. P.S. Half Life graphics suck
