Every time I start steam without internet it keeps trying to update...WTF.

I have 2 PCs one is downstairs and the other is upstairs. The one downstairs doesnt have internet I took my cable modem downstairs and installed steam with HL2, but how do I play HL2 in offline mode? Steam sucks

I start up game and it shows the man with the valve in his eye. Then it goes to loading the menu but just continues to say loading. I can't even get back to windows unless I restart my PC. All this happens on my second PC, but it works fine on my main PC except HL:S it does the same thing as HL2...

I deleted my games by going to properties in the my games section now I have enought room to fit it on DVD.

I have HL2, HL, HL:S and counterstrike source. If there is a way to erase them let me know.

The problem is I can't copy the steam folder because it won't fit on DVD because it's 5.66GB. I need to know which files I can delete so I can copy on DVD.

So can I right click the steam folder and compress it to make it fit on DVD? because my steam folder is 5.66GB.

don't have a network. I have DVD-Rs and a DVD drive. I will install steam on downstairs PC, but how do I get the files on a DVD? and when I do get them on DVD where to I put the files?

Can I do it this way.....hook up my cable modem to downstairs PC and download Steam and sign in with my name, then download HL2? I noticed that I can play HL2 in offline mode on my upstairs PC, so I should be able to do it with the other PC right?

It doesn't work for me it just stays on the loading screen and I have to restart my PC.

well it would still be moday since im not going to sleep until release.

I wonder if you will get a plastic DVD case since the CD versions are coming out in paper sleeves.

That poll is crap....mostly everyone is this forum saw halo 2 was beating HL2 by thousands, so we know the same ppl kept voting just to get HL 2 up there to win. Im no Halo 2 fanboy nor do I own a Xbox but im just saying that poll is flawed.

I would expect this kind of talk from HL2 fanboys. I bet if HL2 was winning know one here would think it was set up.

I went to the gamespy forums and there is a lot of people having this problem.

This sucks I bet there is a lot of people having the same problem like me....the stupid error page keeps popping up.

OMG fileplanet sucks....Im getting error pages or it says im not registered. Im paying 7.95 a month and this is what I get. Whitezero I just noticed what you posted and that could be my problem, but Im still getting error pages. I have a credit card so I don't have anything to worry about.
