Half-Life Engine was/is updating because of the 2 listed changes for the HL (1) engine just released.
One being some kind of packet related error where they would be split (founded by some hard-to-remember-guys-name)
and the other had something to do with the HTTP thing...err...its on the...
Steam only, if you want to patch CZ and any other future VALVE games you will need Steam to do so...saves time that way..so they can work on HL2 more instead of having to worry about sending out the patch to multiple mirrors that may not even work anyway.
Heres a useless little find ive just made, by doing a google search for what is listed next to the "content=" it comes back with a single search result for some kind of Linux Dictionary.
Heres the search result page from google: Click me!
If you go to the Steampowered general forums theres a topic there showing some kinda AIM transcript that someguy and merc did ("interview" with valve vistor, or something like that).
The CE is mentioned, apparently he saw it mentioned on one of those infamous whiteboards with something else...
Heres a couple quick questions:
Did CS:Source have the same "feel" to it as the current CS? Or does all the new physics stuff change the gameplay quite a bit?
What is the kill notification system like? The same in CS where you see [name] [killed with] [victim]?
If you're from Australia and you have a fast connection and you simply can't wait to play HL2 I would recommend you get it via Steam...hell...look at CS:CZ when that was finally released on Steam and in the US it wasnt to be available out here for another week and a half....if i had to wait that...
Thats correct moe, once a CD key has been tied into an account the only way you can remove it from said account is if you actually mail (ye olde way) the original copy of whatever it is that the CD key is printed on to VALVe. It will then remove it from its account its on now and then put it on...
Well...as long as he doesnt wish to play HL2 online...and as long as VALVe deem to keep their HL WON component still online.
Yeah-yeah...I know, I kind of missed the 'good old days' too, but i've adapted. Hell Steam just lets me get into a good game of HL/CS/OpFor/DoD/NS/etc. without having...
Well what youre describing hyenolie is what Condition Zero does before you activate it with Steam.
You install from CD, it then places a shortcut for Condition Zero (and Deleted Scenes if you chose to install it) onto the desktop as well as a couple shortcuts in the VALVe start menu thing...
As long as you dont have to pay for said MMOs theres nothing wrong with it..
..unless they suddenly introduce pricing policies just when you begin to get hooked on the game(s)...that there is evil
Here be a couple for you, yarr.
Gunbound is a free and fun way to pass the time...its pretty much an online-only version of Worms..just..with various vehicle/animal sets to pilot instead of worms.
Soldat while not completely free, its still 100% playable both offline and online as long as...
I would say hard...but then I start to imagine how many dastardly traps Father Gregory (Or is it Grigory? meh) would have in store in that forest/cemetary..err..whatever it is...playing through that scene on hard would be..err..........hmm...sounds kinda fun actually :D
pre-loading = The means to acquiring Steam content before it officially goes live and playable.
If they made HL2D playable without anybody pre-caching it first, people would restart Steam to see a new playable game and the content servers would all be bogged down with all the thousands of...
The actual ability to sprint has been shown off before in the bugbait vid (after Gordon chucks in the 2nd helping of the pheromone grens in the corridor with the sentry turrets).
Still, little things like this 'AUX power' meter make the game that much more complete :)
Has anyone e-mailed one of the VALVe guys left at their office (I believe this includes Rick) asking to confirm this whole CS: Source fiasco one way or another? I mean...If CS: Source is indeed HL2s multiplayer they wont need to keep up the secrecy over the whole MP thing anymore..
Theres also another interview video linked from the last page of the gamespy article that anybody can download presumably...not sure if its the same one or not its around 230 megs and i dont feel like downloading that much on my woesome dialup connection.
Edit: Dang..just noticed info about...
