Sorry to dredge this topic back up from last week, but I also heavily debate about "future upgradability" when buying new systems, and I was looking at the Socket 754 A64s too...
Here's my NEW (personal) take on this dilemma: Don't bother. Every time I've bought a new system, be it 386...
When I upgrade later this year I am definitely going with the Antec Sonata, simply because it is engineered for quietness. Computers are getting noisier all the time, which in itself detracts from gaming goodness.
It doesn't look "cool" or anything, and I don't like the idea of case doors...
*Pictures the Resistance running in and out of buildings cleaning mirrors with Windex and microfiber towels and defiling tables, chairs, and TVs....*

Hahaha! This thread is funny. Brazil was a bit much for me to handle when I first saw it as a youngster. Too abstract and confusing, and I thought it was visually interesting but I just didn't get it.
I agree that Brazil isn't a LOL funny movie either. It's been classified as a "satire"...
I don't know what the culture over at Valve is like, or what Gabe is like in his spare time, so I think it could include:
- Large assortment of faux gold and silver necklaces and jewelry with the HL logo on it. 8 golden rings that spell out "H A L F L I F E" when you put your fists together...
 I remember when I did that! I think that was with Wolf 3D or Rise of the Triad or something.... ah, good times. :)
I love co-op play, but Serious Sam is too crazy for me sure, you get to shoot a lot, but suddenly spawning monsters triggered by taking the 1% health pill got old. :p
Eeep! I post something late at night, go to work, and come back later in the evening to find 5 pages of replies!
Thanks for all the interesting discussion folks, I'm sure I read an answer to my original question in there someplace. :E
I've tried searching around for the answer to this, but haven't seen anyone mention this issue yet. I honestly don't remember reading anything about this in any article or interview either....
Does anyone know if the flashlight is implemented better in HL2? One really annoying thing you get...
Yes, it's a bit of a bummer that the game's delayed, but this is okay (I suppose...) for me because it gives me more time to:
1)Upgrade my PCs
2)Save up more money for said PCs
3)Finish working on my car(s). :D
IMHO this is the big reason why we're gonna need DVD drives in the future. No more of these 2+ CD sets that games come as these days, which are "only" 650MB each max.
Besides, if I just wanted to watch a DVD movie on my PC I could, but don't have to. It's just available. My PC sound system...
Training might come in stages maybe? I mean you might have to learn to drive somewhere different later on in the game than where you learned to jump and shoot.
