Aye, but you have to balance gameplay and realism. Having him stay vertical and flailing around and stumbling is probably about the best balance because since its an FPS game, if he went spinning around, flipping all over the place, the person playing the flipee would probably have a seizure...
I imagine it would be something like in the video when the ant lion queen thing whacks gordon across the room. Couldn't you just make its something like that? Keep vertical but maybe make the arms and legs flail in mid air then have him slide for a bit when he lands with some sort of stumbling...
Each 'face' is a polygon. Though that doesn't mean how many triangles (which is what games use). You would need to triangulate the model (it divides polygons up so each face only has 3 points) to see how many polys it has for the game.
Had a go at normal mapping this with orb, but can't quite figure it out (and when I click the 'tutorial' link on the site the page doesn't load). Anyone know how I can normal map it? Perferably in Maya, but another way would do :)
PS. I know some proportions etc. are a bit off and he has no...
Hehe, there is a panel with a retractable chain ladder thing that pops out from the right side of the cockpit, which it seems I had added in after these renders (the panel, haven't modelled the ladder).
Bah Orb is giving me jip. I can import the high and low poly models but don't know what to do after that :(
PS. Ichi, edgeloops would probably help the face flow better, sort of cencentric circles around the eye, mouth etc. kinda like this.
(I know this is higher poly, but it shows what I...
Hehe actually we are in the process of making a community made mechwarrior game. Currently an engine is being decided on, I don't know much about what has actually been done, lots of coder talk and stuff. I'm just going to try and do some models hehe.
Went back over my mech and am adding more detail (well, not worked on it in a bit and won't for a couple of weeks cause of exams <hiss>). I have built the low poly version, I wasn't really aming to keep below a certain limit (it's 5.5k currently) so can easily optimise it further.
Just need to...
It's where the surgeons went in to perform the nipple reduction :P
Jk hehe, looks a lot better now. This guy going to be put in your concept art scene model thing?
Aye Wings can produce some great results. A few guys over in the Mechwarrior forums use it, http://www.battletech-movie.com/btm/btm.htm shows one done in Wings.
Currently trying to get a star in 3DBuzz so I can download more zbrush vtms. I really want to learn this program, looks like it is fun once you know how to use it.
Would it not just be easier to select the edges of the wheel well and extrude them inwards? You can do it in maya and keep the faces together, I'd imagine you can do the same in Max.
PS. The car is looking great :)
