I agree. I had a copy..and after a blasphemous time with the game finally got it to run..but by that time was so disgusted I returned it.The shop gave me a refund..as they had had others returned as well for other reasons includng the fact it wouldn't run..in one case the "cd key in use"...

If you read steampowered you'd know that the game keeps connecting to STEAM even in singleplay. Hasn't been fixed yet.
