im only new to map making but if you want to make it flat on the top cant you build a brush block that is flat, place it over the top and cut it flat then del the block brush?
ok im remaking a map from the original Counter strike to CSS.
the old map format is in BSP.
how can i convert this file into an editable virsion in hammer.
im fairly sure it has to be converted to VMF.
any help would be great, as i would just like to veiw the old map buildings for size...
when i select the correct spawn entity and right click and select create... well it doesnt do Sh#$ i cant make another one because when ever i click somewhere on the map the enitie moves there??? help

how do i test my map out?
when i run the compile tool it just finishes and doesnt do anything.
if someone could tell me how to run test out CSS maps and also HL2 maps i would bear your children.
hmm i have no idea... im yet to make a map im at work waiting to go home to try it out. but i feel your pain... why the hell is "Headcrab" under my name...

no really thanks for the info. it sure does make a lot more ideas that have been floating around for a long time fiesable.
ok im at work im bored and im planing out a map.
i just need to know if its possible to make breakable objects.
an example is shooting out support beems on a small bridge and the bridge collapsing.???
is that senario possible using the new hammer and SDK tools?
