i realy dont get why that was so amazing to some people.
Alyx running around isnt revolutionary and 4 hours of her kicking zombies and other assorted supposedly vicous aliens..... is gonna get lame within 20 minutes.

Im having some concerns about buying the game.
I think it looks great and yadda yadda yadda.
Im just worried if its too niche....
I like realism, who doesnt? but it seems like the game could rate realism over gameplay.
So my plans are to leave it for a week or two and see peoples...
At the end of the day you are always gonna get people who dont think Valve are doing enough and the polar opposite... who think anybody that bad names valve are scum.
Personaly i just sit back and laugh at the many.... many.... delays and lack luster updates... but thats just me... im not...
Funnyily enough i actualy played it in MP today for the first time in months.
it realy is a poor BF1942 clone though...
But somethings gotta keep me going till BF2/demo considering my 1942 disc 1 is fubar and i cant be arsed playing BF:nam.
Theres a good 12-15 people plus combine that dont know you in the very first level.
The only time people learn who you are is when the resistance moves on City 17.. wich is after the manhack part.

simply the best strat game ever created, completely free form campaign as apposed to wandering through a blown up city thats 100% linear.

choppers 2 types

thats 17 things and most of wich are variations (ie. clones except a skin) of the others...
Well from the laggy piece of crap that is the current Hl2 death match we can all see why CS:S was the games multi player...
"Team" death match... thats funny, the only team thing about it is that you waste your ammo on some guy you cant kill, theres NO team spawns, theres no objectives or...
Not to mention that on numerous ocations the Gman reffers to you basicly as a pleb.

after hl1 they didnt know what hl2 was going to be about, sure gordon would return and so would the gman but the combine? the xen portals expanding etc... city 17...

Why is there so many war games?
war sells, its fun, its cool, its escapist.
BF1942 in its day was original (as well as the best mp game ever IMO), the market wasnt full of ww2 shooters that had vehicles in them, CS was original in that hardly any other game touched the whole terorist...
That is one of the gayest ploys for money ive ever seen.

Unless im the luckiest guy on earth or something steam is a lot better than most of you lot think.
I got the game working within 7 minutes of the release.
Steam hasent hung or crashed or affected anything else on my machine, it finds me patches even when i dont know there are...
well i played it for a good 16 hours i reckon.
im happy with the length, hell i was even happy with max payne 2 that took just 8 hours for me to complete on hard.
there was an official source on the steampowered forums...
