Thanks for the reply, I think that a 7800gt will be fine. As for the motherboards, i'll check out the spec sheets for them to find out the real differences in the 2. Think the psu will be fine, got a good review in customPC and they really tested them throughly.

I wouldn't do that, I would phone them up and get a new prod key since you bought the software. They should give you a new one.

Do you have any themes installed? Not sure if they affect browser buttons that are actually on the page, but I would try reverting back to the standard ff theme. If you are having trouble starting FF then open it via the safe mode shortcut in teh program files folder in the start menu.

I like the name now, didn't at first, but I have to say that it does look cool. If you can use the effects like the transparency etc in custom themes, then that should be cool, get a really ace lookign theme to go with it because I always think that the standard windows themes are alittle chunky.

I know that you can get 5.1 surround sound earphones which are supposed to be really good. Think they are made my a company called speedlink or medusa, something like that. Also Sennheiser are a decent make. Zalman surround sound earphones are pretty good too.

I'd say that your 6600gt will be fine for a while yet, I mean my 9800pro still runs fear (not the best, but it does if you turn off some of the nice effects) and it runs hl2/cs:s great also. When you need to, you should upgrade your video card, but stick with what you have just now.

so you have 2 problems, one with mirc not being able to connect and the other is that you no longer see the server list in multiplayer games that run through steam (I think this what you mean although i'm not sure). If thats right, then it sounds like you have some sort of internet connection...

I use Deer Park Alpha 2 and its great, couldn't see many new features in the FF beta 2 and plus the extension/theme support is pretty bad. I'll get it when there is more extension support.

LOL oh right, i thought that you said you hadn't. Oh well, then hmm thats pretty strange. You tried installing wmp10 through windows update, that always seems to work for me..

I think that as you install windows, it adds the driver for the sata controller so i can see the drive during installation. if you format, it gets rid of the drivers and can't see it when it comes to install, I think, not totally sure though. EDIT: I hit F6 anyway and just install the drivers...
