Awesome find, thanks a ton! Interesting, the XL version of the R520 is coming out before the XT version.

Is 2.2ghz. that much of a difference to a 1.8ghz processor?

    Yeah only 400000000hz off. :D

Getting a new video card- x800 or 6600GT?

By the way, both of those cards you linked are PCI-Express, not AGP. If you have a 9600xt, I'm guessing you don't have AGP.

Athlon XP processor or Pentium 4 processor?

Well apparently Intel was just threatening and bullying all the companies like Dell, Compaq, etc. and also bribing them so they would only sell Intel based PC's. At least that's what AMD says and is why they're suing Intel. If it's true, bad news for Intel.

    Friend's F.E.A.R. demo won't load after 1st cutscene

My friend has a problem with the F.E.A.R. demo and he's already uninstalled once and downloaded from a different site, and installed again and has the same problem. He can start up the game and everything, and the cutscene that you watch before you play loads fine, then when it starts to load...

Is 2.2ghz. that much of a difference to a 1.8ghz processor?

Hmm well let's see. First of all the combined cost of a S939 A64 3000+ and mobo would be less than a $250 XP 3200+ and better. However, you should upgrade other parts of your system, in fast the ram and video card I think may be more important at the moment than your cpu. I would suggest...

Is 2.2ghz. that much of a difference to a 1.8ghz processor?

No I don't think the upgrade is worthwhile, as if you're gonna upgrade you should go to an Athlon 64. If you were gonna spend $250 for an XP 3200+, a worthwhile upgrade would be to get a Socket 939 Athlon 64 3000+ Venice core with a Socket 939 mobo. It's somewhere around $210=$220, and you'll...

    My Paging File Size?

What are the best settings for page file? Does it depend on your ram? I have 1gb, I have the initial at 1533 and maximum at 2000. And it's on my C drive, the second HDD doesn't have one. Anything I should change?

Print Screen feature: Where are the files?

Oh so it doesn't automatically take the pic and save it in a folder, you have to use paint? Ok, I have an old version of Photoshop that'll do.

Print Screen feature: Where are the files?

The Print Screen key on the keyboard that takes a pic of your desktop or whatever you're doing on your computer, does anyone know where Windows stores the pictures you take? I've been wondering for a while.

    Leet laptop faces frame freeze

How much ram does it have? That problem happens when you don't have a lot of ram, actually even when I had 512mb I think it did that for me. But with 1gb it's perfect.

    buying a new PC

I don't know how it ran perfectly before, maybe the settings were different or something. But look at my specs, I have a 9800 pro and 1gb of ram, and HL2 still slows up for me. In big areas or when there's a lot of people, HL2 dips even under 30fps, I almost never have higher than 50fps for...

    Power supply for 6800gt

Antecs are really nice, I think that psu could run a 6800GT even if it is 300w. But here's a nice psu if you want to upgrade: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817153007 Or if you don't want to spend $60, this one is also nice and surprisingly cheap...

    OCing a Dell Dimension

No Intel boards don't let you OC, just like the Dell one's. Someone please help, I know I can get a decent OC out of this.

What screen resolution do you use?

What about 1152x864? 1280x1024 is too small for my taste on the desktop, I just changed from 1024x768. Hl2 can't run well on 1280x1024 even though I have a 9800 pro. It's the cpu's fault I think. 1152x864 with no AA runs alright, still slow in some parts.

    Athlon equivalent

Yeah 6800 plain would be the best bet as it can do stencil shadowing well.

    OCing a Dell Dimension

I'm on a blackberry right now so bear with me. I'm in line in boston getting red sox tickets for tonight's game. Waiting from 2 to 5, good thing my dad had his blackberry. I replaced most of the parts on the dell, all except the cpu. I have a much better case and cooling now, so I should get a...
