I don't know if it will work the same for you, but I ended up putting a bunch of info_node's along my path to get my npc to stay on it....it was a scanner and otherwise it would just fly off on its own.
Oh yeah, I never wanted to just put whatever into the map...thats what was holding my back....I didn't make the map very much like any actual place...so not too much would fit there. But I've already figured out how to add things to make it look a bit more real world-ish.
Ok then, that will be my next step....adding lots of crap. I was holding off on the physical objects till last because I'm not sure what I want to put in. And I'm trying to keep this map as playable as possible. Some people just throw all sorts of crap into their maps and then you can hardly do...
I've got a HL2DM map I've been working on for a couple of months now. Its actually my first finished map. I've got a couple of tweaks to make and it will be done...for now here are pictures.

I have this as my...
Here are a couple of pictures I took will up north in San Luis Obispo. I had to fiddle with these in photoshop because of some nasty haze. These look way better than the originals.
Thats looking out into a bunch of rain.

No fair!! You've got a better camera!!!! Honestly though, I can see you do have the eye for photography. A lot of my photos have just been snapshots lately, nothing really frame worthy. The colors in those pics are just awesome.
How many MP is that thing?
