Someone wrote a fake article which stated that there would be gun cleaning in HL2 and there would be some SOF 2 similar damage system etc back in June or something. So, no there is no gun cleaning in HL2.

That's a creature which didn't make it to HL which they scrapped.

This is just one of the several hundred different "release dates" TF2 has had throughout the year. This is another thing that shows that you shouldn't trust in retailers release dates.
