Will you read the manual before playing Half-Life 2?

And I thought the thread about "the birds" was as low as it would get... But anyway I'll probably tear it up while shouting "Faster Faster Faster, Come on you piece of shit" while breathing very heavily and grinding my teeth.

Real Life Gravity Gun not so far fetched

It probably doesn't melt for the same reason it doesn't melt when rapped round a tesla coil http://www.qsl.net/ke5fx/tesla.html I don't know what thermalized means but it sounds alot like thermal and poly means many. I can't find one definition of either thermalized on it's own or with poly...

Real Life Gravity Gun not so far fetched

Not according to this website http://www.jbcr-virtualsolutions.com/heffect/hutchisoneffect.html After reading some webpages I'm a bit suspicious but I wouldn't rule it out completely, as a couple of sources say he has recreated it and has shown it to external resources but more importantly...

Real Life Gravity Gun not so far fetched

I thought valve were just hashing theorys together with the gravity gun but it appears it's based on the hutchison effect which has been proven to exist: Maybe Hutchison gives you the manipulator in HL2 :dozey: http://www.geocities.com/ResearchTriangle/Thinktank/8863/HEffect1.html I...

    CS: Source and CS2 Split

In my opinion the CS community is already divided, alot of people (including me) took one look at 1.6 and thought "**** that". Since 1.5 isn't on Steam i havn't played CS for ages, CS:S looks more like the original but I'm not holding my breath. As for CS2 I don't think that will be...

    Java

Your missing the point, Java has one API that works on all supported platforms and one file format. C++ has lots of cross platform API's but there not all the same quality or have the same support as the Java API, they don't all behave the same on different platforms either. I have tried and...

    Using the Manipulator for elevation.

The manipulator does not fire particles with a large kinetic energy to move objects, it fires particles that disturb vacume energy createing either a gravitational field or directly induceing kinetic energy on the object somehow. If the manipulator actually fired something with enough force...

    HL2 or Future Source games?

2007? Thats a bit too far away to make predictions. I would take the safe bet and say HL2 as I don't know what will be around on source at that time.

    Java

I just made my first Java app and I must say my experience with Java so far has been very good. Only haveing to reffere to one API is fantastic and the way java forces you to do certain things is brilliant. The documentation isn't half bad either, although it seams to presume you already know a...

    Unreal 3.0 crap.

Oh... My... God... Those screens look so much better than the other ones. Games in two years time are going to be insane. There's still a bit of glossyness on the buildings though, if they toned it down a bit it would be perfect.
