are you using the CCC? "catlyst control center" or if you were but are no longer did you remove the older drivers completly?
People get that when using the CCC and turn on the AI option to high.
Oh and if your talking in the source system test that you are getting those, its actually a bug...
The only problems that have been discused at the rage3d site (ati card forums etc)
Is they at times seem to have a problem with the 9600 series. the 9600xt in specific, some users get some bad errors, and can't use them, have to go back to 4.11.
Other then that most people find them fine.
Valve has always been a very devoted devloper for its game, so we can expect good patchs for many years, old bugs will be removed, new ones will be found, and they to will get ironed out in time.
nice thing is, is the fact the reviewers systems were using 9800's.
So these screens really are something, Can't wait for those "ATI" levels to see what they can pull out for this gens cards.

its Intentionally by Nvidia, they lied through their teeth the entire time the Fx line was out about its dx9 features.
You'll find when a company says "lifetime" warenty/returns.
They don't mean for your life. Just the life of the product, so once it stops being sold on shelfs, or they phase it out. They no longer have to do their warenty.
