If you dont plan to overclock then almost all skt 754 mobos will perform pretty much the same. Personally the EPoX in my sig is very good an dive had no problems with it.
Jus stick with 3200, i doubt you will overclock as far as needing faster ram. Just overclock your core then your ram a bit.
If you are not going to overclock dont be stupid and buy expensive ram as normal Corsiar value or Crucial ram will perform just as well for much much cheaper.
If the cd drive is truly fired then get twi flat head screw drivers and pry the tray out buy putting one at either end of the try and pulling the tray out.

If i was you i would go for a brand like antec, thermaltake, zalman, enermax these are all quality brands and if you are paying less than £50 or so for a 500 watt power supply i porbably means it will die on yo within 5 minutes taking the rest of your PC with you.
I think the overclockers forum is fantastic, there are some very knowledgable people there who are experts in a wide variety of hardware related shenanigans.
I would go for sunbeams they last a long time. Personally i think 1 is enough but i do also have 2 led fans which add some light. But ultimately it's all down to preference
