From these impressions it seems like Valve is holding HL2 back just so they can release CS:S at the same time. Why would it take 3+ months just to polish HL2?

Like I said, I haven't seen any in HL2 either, plus there not being any in these pics, I don't think Valve is using them for Source games.

I don't think HL2 uses detail textures. I haven't seen any.

I love the skins on the player models, but the models themselves are a bit ehh.

I'm pretty sure they're the HLDM robo model that's in the game already. You can fire up HL and take a look.

Think HL2 = $50 If the Source ports are at a budget price of $20, and there's four of them, (CS, HL1, DOD, TFC) that makes $80 50+80 = $130 So you're basically just buying all of the ports and HL2 in one lump sum. the extra $20 that brings it to $150 is the collectors edition stuff-...

Honestly, the price is high, but ALL the source ports, that's HL1 source, DoD source, CS source, TFC source, DMC source? If the source ports are priced at $20-30 retail, seperately, the price makes sense...

The 6800 is the only card that can use PS3.0, and Valve is designing HL2 for mid-low spec hardware, so I doubt they'll bother to use 3.0 a lot.

The VGUI is also not the default Steam green anymore, it's a transparent gray kinda thing.
