Here is something that will jog your mind...
It has always baffled me as to why copper was the number one chosen form for a PC heatsink. Although it has been proven to have very high levels of conductivity, for both heat and energy, silver still surpasses it both electrically and thermally...
I am on AIM, I have been for the past 5 hours
RABIES360
sorry, without the space
Those filters (the plastic) they actually filter more, but they cause alot more air resistance because the material is different. The mesh filters will last you longer and they can be cleaned by just using...
OK, once again....here we go....The filters
Your intake for the duct:
Duct Intake
Notice the Orange Smart Fan
The intake for the bottom case fan:
Bottom Intake
Both Zoomed Out:
Both
Over these I have made my own cover, it cuts down the noise by about 30%.
And lastly...
I use all wire mesh filters, the plastic ones that come with the duct suck. The ones from www.svc.com are alot wider in the mesh so you get better air flow. As for intake and exhaust, Asus's picture is correct. That is my exact setup, you will always want that top fan blowing out because that...
Let me try to figure out what you are saying...and why you did not even ask me? :cheese:
Check it
Look at my setup, I had to separately buy my duct fans, they are both "Thermaltake Smart Fan II's". Now, each one of these fans (2) are attached to each end of the duct, both blowing in for...
lol....I hear ya.....but actually you wouldn't, read my edited last post, I commented on case pressure.
Note - your power supply will always help vent out air, plus with pressure it will cool your power supply much better....:cheese:
Asus:
The back actually has 2, one at each end of the duct, these two are the Thermaltake SmartFan II's which are both controlled fully by the CPU. Both the top rear and bottom rear fans are intake fans. And the front 2 are also intake. The only exhaust fans are in the power supply and the...
Actually, the hard drives never caught fire, they just failed. It was on my PC that the coolers caught flame.....ironic isn't it, that's one toasty cooler...
Well, look at my pic again on my last post, my 2 rear fans are filtered, and flowing in. So are the front 2 case fans, and the side fan. The only exhaust I allow on mine, is out of the top, and the power supply. If you filter your system, you may want to get 2 fans on each end of that duct to...
Yeah, that should be a word to the wise, I had a friend who had a fileserver, 4 SCSI drives, 4 HD coolers. Luckily his only failed when he wasn't home, the SCSI's overheated and failed, put him about $700 in a hole.
hyenolie:
If you want a "cool" CPU option, look at www.svc.com
They sell a...
I had one of those, it caught fire. :flame:
They are good for about 1 or 2 years, then the fans rattle, and then fooom, up in smoke.
This of course was a cooler master set, I have tried others that worked even for less amounts of time. Went through 3 sets.
If you want an EZ HD cooler...
Ah. I see what you mean now, yeah, I was going to get that, but I stopped by a PC shop and got 8 baby ramsinks w/ 8 thermal adhesive pads. Fitted those and then added 2 40mm CPU fans on my stock heat sink, they work great and only cost about $5 in total.
Yeah I was laughing at the images on...
Thanks
In response to the second opinion:
THe way I understand what he is saying is that the heatsink will run hotter? Does that not mean that it is doing it's job more effectively? Now I'm confused...
Egad! The size and weight of that thing, but I don't believe that was the one in...

Cooling masterpiece!
The one flaw that I still see in most video cards is the fan placement. Why do they put the fan above a flat surface? Why not put fins below the fan? Or is the heatsink supposed to draw heat away from the GPU/VPU to dissipate?
Flat under Fans?
I like that...
Asus: can't win em all......hehe, ya I have some pretty bad luck with video cards, I guess that's why I like this card so much. It just works...
DanteHL2: I've had some problems with that too, but only when I use ATI's drivers, not sapphires. Not sure what u r using? Plus where would you see...
I know my card ain't a bag of chips, there are much better ones out there, for a price. All I am saying is that I have had some problems with other video cards, an older RAGE FURY MAXX 64MB (only works in 98?), a RADEON 8500LE (yeah that one had issues), I changed o nVidia (oops), GeForce FX5600...
#1 Direct input differs from optical and digital in a sense that direct has a cable for each output Front, Rear, Center, Sub. Most simple PC speakers use direct, it is effective and better sounding. Direct is also called 7CH or 6CH or 5CH depending on what you have.
#2 Your DVD player will...
Actually the sapphire is not the same, hence, I OWN ONE. It's clock rates are much higher and it's tools are much better. Many people think that RageTweak can fully tweak their card, oh if only they knew what redline does. Hell, not even the ATI drivers will work with this card. And if your...
