I know this can be done in UT. (Anyone remember the SCREEN demo), so it would make sense for it to be possible in Source.
Does anyone know of the possibility to display web content in game? This was inspired by the "league" topic.
Here's an example: In most games, when you waqnt to play...
First thing's first. Voodoo card's ran primarily on Glide. If you didn't have that, there was also miniGL.
D3D is just a peice of DX, which handles 3d rendering. The other peices are DirectSound (sound), DirectDraw(2d), DirectMusic(music), DirectInput (Input), and DirectPlay (networking)...
I would too. I doubt how that would be a mod though, considering that its pretty easy to program 2d game straightforward.
I guess you could do a 2d/3d thing, or maybe use the rendering capabilities of source to augment your 2d mod.
The web Admin was misinformed. I actually sent the bloke an e-mail saying that we'd all complain about it and he changed it (somewhat). but yeah this is old news.
For HL3: I would like gordon I.E. you to carry Alyx away to some prefecture in northern Japan where you spend the rest of your days happily ever after going to gamecenters, skiing, and making robots.
the end
Some of my Ideas would plan to be doing mech based swords/energy weapons. (Remember I'm a Gundam Head).
Have any of you ever played Mobile Suit gundam 0079 Side Story: Rise from the Ashes?
It was an old dreamcast game about an 3 person australian MS team (affectianately titled the white...
You know what, I've always found things like guns, spaceships, vehicles, etc. to be easy because their all straight lines.
Even things that are curved (like say a mouse) are relatively east to do.
But biological creatures, especially the human head/face are almost impossible. I've studied...
I'm experienced in both C++, C and JAVA, but that doesn't go far beyond AP Comsci(which I got a 96 in and am expecting a 5 for the AP test, not to brag) and robotics programming (MOE U.S. F.I.R.S.T. team #365 (the code always worked even when the bot didn't)).
It would be cool to join you...
WW2 is just an overused theme that anything worthwhile would have to be done by a major developer. The fact is there is almost nothing you could do with a mod that hasn't already been done 10X better. I would not waste my time[/cliched_expected_flame]
I really don't see wy you couldn't do an MMO, but one for a mod would be near impossible. The amount of funding and maintenece for servers that oculd handle az capacity as such would be staggering.
One thing I was thinking of would to just have a MORPG (Multiplayer Online RPG). Basically...
I don't get what's so great about it. It distances you from the low level language. Makes me feel like less of a programmer, and Sun has like 8000 different compilers that are slow as balls.
Think you could make the physics allow it to tip? So that the physics would calulate when it would tip over. I'm imagining something where the animation and IK would be done normally (keyframed). But the entire thing could be treated like a big block. Would it be right to state that the object...
